There's a new video on youtube where this guy has wedged open his ps3 superslim with cardboard so that he can put in a genuine ps1 disc and let it load, take the disk out and swap it for a burnt game and it appears to runs fine (Hot Swapping). I want to know if you guys think it's real or not. This may be a pretty cool design flaw in the superslim PS3.
Anyway, Could this be used to do something more interesting? Could it be used on Ps3 games? Could it be possible to add data to the games and somehow initiate homebrew from the burnt disc? Sorry if these are n00b questions, I'm just curious.
Here's a link to the video-

It looks like he just glued a blank disc on an official PSX game, and then wrote on it to look like a burnt disc.
It might just be me though, but look at when he picks up the copied disc, and it looks like its thicker than a regular cd

This is not a fake video i know this because i made this video i figured this out. Basically the cardboard isnt wedging the lid open the 2 pieces of card are pushing down the lid sensor buttons just like on the ps1 and ps2 so they ps3 thinks the lids closed. im hot swaping an original ps1 game (metal gear solid) and puting in a burnt game (tenchu 1) and it plays! so now i can use any original game to boot any burnt ps1 game i want! i dont no if burnt ps3 games will work we shall have to see. and yea if you new how to mod/hack/edit ps1 games you would be able to load em! and to they guy that cd the cd looks thicker WTF!! are you on about you crazy fool!! watch the whole vid and you will see its real. i want other people to know so we can really exploit this.
THIS IS REAL!!

Oh, I didn't realize that you used two different games, sorry about that. I have super slim PS3, so I'm going to see if I can get this to work also. I'll write back whether or not I can get it to work.

hot swopping works on all ps2s and ps3's for ps1 games
if you have a bc ps3 you can do it with ps2 games(dual layer games are required for some burnt games to work, like gow2 or that crappy kh final mix ***
ps3 games don't work for this as the security checks happen during the gameplay and not just at the beginning when being booted up
and eating thrifty maid noodles because of it......seriously!?! off brand noodles.....ouch i got burned by tech support.....ouch........

It's real. Get on with your day.
I'm attempting to make a hot swap using a ps3 disk and a copy of a ps2 game and a modified burnt copy of a ps1 game in order to boot a ps2 game.
I wish I could use this to create something like FreeMCBoot
Intel Core i7 4770K @4.7Ghz
MSI Z87-GD65 Motherboard
32GB Corsair Vengeance PRO RAM
Radeon 7950 OC DD (XFX)
Corsair H100i Water Cooling
Corsair HX1050 PSU
Corsair 900D
1TB WD Blue - 128GB 840 PRO SSD
BenQ XL2420TE Gaming Monitor
