I've never had an apparent freeze myself. Maybe cause of your ProDuo MS. *shrugs*jd20dog wrote:the guide worked great
step seven looks like it freezes when you click yes but just give it about 2 min and it will change to a completion screen(the only reason i know something was happening was because my usb drive only flashes as its being accessed)
Rebug Selector. That's what the process of running it does. Rebug Mode vs Normal Mode. You can tell you're in Rebug Mode by either running the Rebug Selector, or by simply checking your system version (it'll be spoofed while in Rebug Mode.)jd20dog wrote:im still not sure on the rebug mode on/off thing though, like when/ how am i supposed the turn it on and off, so please expand on the process of this
Pretty much, unless you wan to install a newer Rebug Update, install an alternate spoof, or Install another OFW/CFW/MFW, you'll never need to swap back to Normal Mode.
I'll check into that.jd20dog wrote:i would also like a guide on installing other os, like Ubuntu if someone would be so kind as to make one
Any kind of storage device the PS3 supports is fine, I wrote USB Flash Drive by reflex (since few models have those MS ports, you lucky one with a CECHA.) I'll update the guide with that clarification.jd20dog wrote:ps: psp pro duo works for the cecha01 as a flash drive too(load light helps know somethings happening) also i didn't expect the boot screen to have REBUG instead of the PS3 logo after step five's reboot, kind of cool aesthetic change
And yes, Rebug Custom Coldboot, cool isn't it? ^_^
Its normal, due to the bypassing of hypervisor default coding. And CECHA's are notorious for heat issues even without CFW anyways.jd20dog wrote:also has any one else noticed the ps3 runs warmer on 3.55(115F) and compared to 3.15(101F)? or is this just my paranoia acting up on me?
Also updated the main post with more details on the Rebug Privacy Patch and a what is CFW part, and various detail clarifications.
