Battlefield 3. Your best and worse experiences so far?

Post by Casavult » Tue Nov 08, 2011 12:12 am

So, Battlefield 3 was released roughly 2 weeks ago, I was wondering what your opinions were on this title and what bug experiences you have experienced during the time you have played the game?

For me, the random suicide bug. I was mantling a wall one time and as I climbed over I got the "Bad Luck" death message. Has anybody experienced this issue?

Please let me know what your best and worst experiences of the game have been so far. :)

Hours of gaming, i found a bug. It's on a mission story, where your teammate will just do nothing until you restart the whole mission. I don't remember what part or name of the mission is it though.
Goodbye, Captain John "Soap" Mactavish
And Goodbye, Joe Frazier - thanks for encouraging me to have my own PSP

Dealing with EA's customer service over the VOIP issue :x Alot of us dealt with deleted twitter comments made over the issue to people getting banned for asking about the issue. I myself took the issue to the BBB which lead me to a phone call from one of their reps. He kept wanting to ply with me stuff in hopes that I would stop asking for working VOIP  Funny enough, somehow they scr..ed up on their end and I got a brand new copy of BF3 sent to me by them

I emailed the rep I was talking to, informing him that I received the game when I never had the intention of getting my copy replaced. I gave him the info off the return address and he followed it up and I ended up with it. After awhile, I placed a call to speak with him and we got into a little argument. Many XBOX360 users were complaining of the same issues as PS3 owners were yet many were easily ready to believe it was all the fault of the PS3 (even though few had working VOIP  ) Which lead me to tell him my theory that it was their servers that were the problem since many did have working chat and the rest of us had McDonald's intercoms to communicate with

He then proceeded to tell me I was completely wrong about E.A. being one of the few companies that were allowed by Microsoft to run their own servers alongside XBOXlive and that was never the case even though xbox users mentioned the same problem   The kicker is that he simply told me he was right because he worked for E.A. I then went to explain to him that many of us had been very patient. It was a problem in the BETA yet many of us went along their words that it would be fixed. Four months later we end up with deleted comments from their employees and banning and topic closures due to simply wanting nothing more than working chat and nothing else.

Other than that...I love this game  and I love teamwork. Any of you ever want to play, add the PSN Budds_o_Tokin

I'm pretty well-rounded, I can fill out any job when needed.

My major issue now is the excessive input lag. It's driving me insane... So I play Battlefield 3 on PC more until they fix it, if they do.

I'll add you on PSN when I'm next online. 8-)

I have a few friends on the battlelog leading a topic about hopes of fixing it. There was something mentioned about a patch similar to the VOIP one (i.e. standalone patch) Hopefully you guys get that fix. Just like when we were dealing with the VOIP problem, I've seen the same type say.

"I don't have that problem so you must be lying"

I didn't spend about 4 months of my time getting insulted by forum users and belittled by service reps just to prolong a joke
Anyways, it'll be awesome playing matches with you 8-)

Well a patch release date has been made for the PS3 (March 27th) with a heap ton of fixes and weapon re-balancing (USAS-12 is addressed, hallelujah!). PS3 users also have the option of turning off Anti-Aliasing to help with input lag (probably available until they find the root cause?). So now we have the option to give up some graphics quality just to help relieve input lag stress.

Full list of fixes can be found here.

What role do you play on Battlefield 3? I, 99.9% of the time use a LMG just because they are awesome! I love putting the fear in people when they get suppressed and hear 200 rounds hit and fly past them.

Heh heh, along with this forum... the battlelog is one of my other bookmarks.

Support, and it's greatest tool of suppression. There are few who truly understand it's usefulness and with the patch it's just going to be even more of a use. As for me, I guess I support through playing whatever suits the need. I really don't mind filling out a roll if we need it.

It's one of the reasons I've kept my username for so long.

Really?! I have about 200+ hours as an Support gunner.

I use all LMGs with a bipod, none of that foregrip nonsense. My best LMG is the MG36 with about 1400 kills. I agree, few truly understand it's usefulness. I'm that type of LMG guy that will watch my teams back and make sure no enemies try and sneak past. If they do, they get gunned down. I'm also not one of them ignorant support guys who never hand out ammo, I WILL run across the map if people are in need of ammo.

I don't use Battlelog, I just don't like it. I think bf3stats.com is much better for stat tracking to be honest. :)

Bfstats has a add-on for Battlelog 8-) With the patch, I've fallen in love with the game all over again. I'm even thinking about renting a server  Rockets are now useful and now vehicles can still take it to a team but have to be more wary. No matter what the firepower... a couple of well placed rockets will take you out. The improved speed of the helicopters and the anti-air now make pilots think a lot quicker now. The levels of randomness are back to BC2 where you would see a random body get sent flying in the air by whatever hit them

Still need a battle-recorder though...would be nice
