The PSP2 was never mentioned in this thread. This thread is a comparison between the PlayStation 2 and the PlayStation Portable.

Edit: ^ I'm slow, yet again :(.
Thanks for catching that, I meant to type PS2. I subconsciously typed PSP2, most likely because I just read an article on Engadget about the PSP2.

I'll edit that right away. :D

Out of curiousity, is it feasible to emulate a PS2 on the PSP? I recognize that the addition of an extra joystick means most games would not be fully playable, but in terms of processors, would it work?

Maybe because ps2 gpu is clocked at 147MHz while the psp's gpu is clocked at 166MHz.
the ps2 however has 4mb of vram while the psp has 2mb of vram
psp's cpu is 333mhz while ps2's cpu is 299mhz
but psp's cpu is 32bit while ps2's cpu is 64 bit

in the end they are incomparable.
it would be unfeasible to play ps2 on psp

Absolutely not.

More MHz doesn't necessarily mean better. For example, the i7-860S is much better than my E8400, although it's almost 500 MHz slower

To me, as far as on the TV, ps2's got it beat defenantly... but on the actual PSP itself, its really hard for me to pick... on some games yes ps2 is better, but yet some games, to me are really polished (like Gran Turismo) it's too hard to tell... As far as the processor, I agree totally with mOskitO... growin' up with a father who works for Honeywell, you figure out whats what and whats better and that newer isn't always better... Anyways, as far as the PS2 vs. PSP thing, It's really a toss up for me... lol... but thats just my opinion...
