Arcade games for PSP?

Post by ks177 » Wed Jan 02, 2013 4:04 pm

Hello, happy new year!

I'm hoping someone could point me in the right direction, Mr Google isn't being very helpful. I'm looking for arcade like games for the psp. I especially like afterburner and outrun. I also like tekken 6 and mortal kombat but I'm not really looking fo more fighting games. I like games with a mad adrenalin rush that I can just jump into and play for 15 minutes without getting into some longdrawn out saga. Any ideas?

Cheers!

Thanks anyway man ;) Little deviants look like crazy game!

The thing is I'm 34, when I was growing the coolest games where in the arcades, things like strider 2. Then things like wolfenstein came out on the pc and these epic games that were meant to played for weeks before you fininsh them started appearing, I'm just not so in to them.

Here's a few

N+: quite a good pick-up-and-play type game, although you can't save while you're doing a stage. (1 stage = 4 or 5 short levels, some of them difficult)

WipEout pure/pulse: I'm sure you know these, but they are futuristic racing games with weapons and stuff. graphics are awesome!

A Homebrew called gSquare is also excellent, it was one of my favorite entries in the Genesis competition (wow, that was almost 2 years ago  )
my stuff
  • PSP 3000 White (03g) - Dual Boot (6.60 Pro-C2 and LME 1.8)
  • PSP 2000 Simpsons Ed. - 6.60 ME 1.8
  • PS Vita Cosmic Red - FW3.01
  • Sony Vaio E-Series Laptop White
  • Samsung Galaxy S4 International (Rooted)

I really enjoy Jetpack Joyride. It reminds me of an arcade style game. The game is simple to play with just one button. The Vita HD version that is free is really fun. It has graphics and fun comparable to Metal Slug series (which is a fantastic arcade series.)

We all derp on occasion. The first 2 posters mentioned vita. There are several others mentioning homebrew for psp. I still stand by Metal Slug as my all time favorite arcade/even coop game.
