Basic Info:
God Eater 2 is a direct sequel to the popular hunting action game God Eater Burst (known as Gods Eater Burst in the west), developed by SHIFT and published by Namco Bandai Games. It will be released on both the Playstation Portable and the Playstation Vita simultaniously, and a release in the west is still to be announced.

Story:
3 years after the original God Eater, the people are still fighting with the Aragami, while trying to get on with their lives at the same time. However, in the Far East, new threats have started to emerge: New types of Aragami, known as the "Inducton" types, which affect the other Aragami around them, and the "Red Rain", which causes a disease which cannot be cured.
At the same time a new special squad is established - known as "Blood". Using the Moving Fortress "Freya" as a base, their job is to find the cause of these new threats and possibly eliminate them. The player character enters "Blood" as a new recruit, a second generation new-type god eater.
New Features:
Blood Arts: Not much is known about this at the moment, but essentialy this is a special move that evolves to your particular playstyle, and is a very destructive move. A video showing some of these will be embedded later.
New Weapons: In addition to the 3 classes of close range weapons in the original game, 2 new classes have been added: the Boost Hammer and the Charge Spear. The Shotgun class has also been confirmed for the gun form of the god arc.
"Character Episodes": Essentially these are side quests that the player can do to understand the other characters more deeply. Once these have been completed, that character will learn a "Blood Arts" move (from what I understand)
Importing Saves:
Players who have played God Eater or Burst will be able to import their save files to God Eater 2, and carry over a number of Jinki (God Arc) parts, which then will be automatically unlocked when that rank is reached. The number of parts carried over will be determined by how many specific conditions have been cleared (eg "killed 100 aragami" or "completed 50 missions with anotehr character" etc.)
