Nope. GPSP uses a "ROM paging" technique to swap portions of large(32MB) ROMs into RAM as needed, and unfortunately that is the reason GPSP freezes when returning to the menu. Nothing can be done to alleviate this issue for phat users, but I'm sure it could be fixed for slim+ users if a talented coder took advantage of the extra 32MB of RAMOmnija wrote:in gpsk kai has a random issue with handling 32mb game and i was wondering if there was a way to correct it? where when you go back to menu it won't freeze.

Re: Working Emulators And Known Issues With Emulators
I've made two interesting discoveries while experimenting with gpSPkai 3.4. I've posted details in the testing forum.

Re: Working Emulators And Known Issues With Emulators
Hbl r109 fixes some exiting problems. I've tested gpSPkai 3.4 and Emumaster, and you can now load other homebrew without issue after exiting gpSPkai with the exception of gpSPkai itself. Reloading it causes errors than returns to the hbl menu. As for Emumaster people will be happy to know that it exits to hbl menu now without issue!
Edit: gpSPkai 3.2 also exits to menu now(also crashes when reloading it) with the ability to launch other brew after exit. I am sure the same is true of other working builds of gpSP as well.

Quick update, more polishing later
Tragic, does GPSP-J exit? or 0.9? You didn't directly confirm those versions, and sadly, I'm too pre-occupied to try myself
EDIT: Just remembered I tried GPSP-J on R108 and it couldn't go to the menu, so I'll presume no exit on that one

Re: Working Emulators And Known Issues With Emulators
Has anyone tried any other versions of RIN? I can swear I remember having a working version on my go. If noone knows I'll go through all the versions I can find. It's the only emu I really want.
Re: Working Emulators And Known Issues With Emulators
It worked a long time ago around R60 or 70 IIRC, but it stopped working soon after that and hasn't worked since. I moved on and started using EmuMaster, but RIN was a really good emulator and it'd be nice to have it back.GW2 wrote:Has anyone tried any other versions of RIN? And emumaster runs gameboy and gameboy color games? If so then at least I can get my pokemon fix.
Re: Working Emulators And Known Issues With Emulators
Correct. It also does Sega Master System emulation, but I use SMS+ for that instead.GW2 wrote:And emumaster runs gameboy and gameboy color games? If so then at least I can get my pokemon fix.

Re: Working Emulators And Known Issues With Emulators
Actually I can confirm that as of R109 force exit works on gpsp-j, and though bringing up the emulator menu still crashes with memory allocation errors, it goes back to the hbl menu now. Additionally gpsp-j isn't affected by the crash on reload that affects the kai builds. I haven't tested 0.9 yet but I will asp, and I'll post what I find out.Metroid_III wrote:Quick update, more polishing later

Edit: Just tested 0.9 and it does exit now and like Gpsp-J it also reloads after exit without any problems.
