Apparently the game i used for testing, can be installed from PS3 directly withou any of the above mentioned steps.
My bad, for not testing this first, but i was getting really excited. The game definitely was listed as PSP only and i could't select "download to Vita" from the storepage .

Edit: I retested it with Phantasy Star Protable 2 which definitely can't be tranfered from PS3 and it worked. So the method is valid.

Now this is more interesting news!
Try a ps1 game also like spyro or crash!

Is a modded ps3 required to copy the pkg file? Can the package file not be downloaded directly or using mediago for psp?

I just spend 4€ on a crappy game for testing and 34€ !! on Phantasy Star Portable 2. I don't really feel like spending more money on this atm.

I just had a PS3 running CFW at hand so it was the easiest way to do it for me. Since Media let's you download the pkg and install the hame to psp, so you get a valid license, it should work just fine!

You only need a PSP for the license file (the .rif) and a PC to download and transfer the .pkg file to your Vita (here do you find a lot of .pkg http://hackinformer.com/PlayStationGuid ... slinks.txt even Spyro).
I can't test it by myself at the moment. So anyone have to try it out this way. But theoretically it should work ^^

The .pkg can be installed on the Vita with the Package Installer, which works with the IDU-settings app by XYZ.

I'm trying this now, on my third attempt at installing the.pkg
It gets a little more than half way done then the vita shuts down, if anyone can tell me what's going on I'd appreciate it.

- While in IDU mode, shut down the vita (turn off wifi before to avoid unwanted firmware updates)
- plug in the the power cable (pluged into the wall, not just the pc or something)
- the Vita starts automaticly
- press start+L+R+up
- now press the power button shortly to make the Vita go into standby
- wait until the blue power light runs off completely
- remove the power cable from the vita and wake it up again. The Vita will not shutdown itself anymore untill it gets restarted

Are you alreade in the IDU/DEMO-MODE? Then try this out, it should deactivate the auto-shutdown after 5 minutes:
1. Turn off your Vita completely
2. Connect the powercable -> the vita should start into DemoMode
3. Deactivate the DemoMode by pressing and holding L + R + UP + START for 5 seconds
3. Press the Power Button to standby your Vita and wait till the blue led is completely off
5. Disconnect the cable and wake up your Vita

But I successful installed a Netflix PKG, it said I had to upgrade the firmware :(, just by changing the PKG to ZIP and putting the folder inside it into the folder u0/bgdl/t, restarted my vita and installed the package through the notifications center, anyway I figured if I could get a PSP game in PKG format than it should work the same way, the question I have is, is there anyway to convert ISOs to PKG files?

Could you give me a step by step when it comes to installing through the notification area? I changed the extension to .zip and copied the .zip to bgdl/t and restarted but nothing.

You just need to tap the notifications tab in the top right and it should install.

Why exactly does signing games for bubbles like we used to back on 3.18 not work then?
Does it quit? If not, then it's legit... Too legit.
