TN-X port theoretically possible?

Post by bobrocks95 »

Aside from PSP iso loading the only other missing feature of HENkaku on 3.60 (at least as far as I can tell) is TN-X. So my question is two-fold:

1) Is it possible to have TN-X work without an exploit game? This depends on how it works and whether pops is accessible in any way even with the file system sandbox disabled.
2) Is a port to 3.60 possible or does it exploit some type of kernel vulnerability in 3.18?

Also curious how TN-X compares with custom PS1 bubbles used on 3.52 (which I assume work now with 3.60). Both use pops presumably, but TN-X seems much easier to use aside from needing specific exploit games. Maybe nobody really cares about TN-X anymore?

A PSP kernel exploit is needed to run TN-V or ARK. As for the 3.52 PS1 bubbles, I don't know enough about them to say one way or the other.

Of course it makes sense a PSP kernel exploit is needed for replacement PSP firmware. TN-X doesn't use PSP mode though unless I'm greatly misunderstanding things.

TN-X uses a PSP kernel exploit in POPS mode to launch the menu

Ah, interesting, thanks. So odds are probably very low then, or we'd have it on a newer version by now. Oh well!

Myeh... if anything, HENkaku will increase the likelihood if private exploits being released, but I wouldn't count on that happening.
Maybe we'll get one that takes advantage of full filesystem access, maybe we won't; it's only a matter of time.
I'm just your average Seong. Move along, nothing to see here...
