PSP2Shell for Rejuvenate 0.3.4

Post by SMOKE »

Here is a shell that can be used as a homebrew menu for Rejuvenate. It also has FTPVita built in to quickly transfer files.

It's based on the ProShell from ARK. Its not the most pretty shell, but it gets the job done quite nicely.

To run the shell, install the files as mentioned below and double click your bat file you normally use ( run_homebrew_unity.bat or run_homebrew_unity_debug.bat for Unity )
You can also run a homebrew from your PC like you normally do by dragging the binary onto the bat file.

Easy Installation:
Place the files in the root of your Rejuvenate folder like they are in the archive. If you have already installed Rejuvenate and have it running, copy the bat files from the vitadefiler folder to the root of your Rejuvenate setup as well.

To homebrew devs:
Exiting back to the shell is done via your homebrew. Simply make it exit normally ( eg return 0; or exit(0); ) on exit instead of using sceKernelExitProcess. UVLoader doesn't cleanup the memory allocated by the homebrew, so you need to cleanup those resources before exiting to avoid problems after loading multiple homebrews.

Wanting to get this set up, but I've hit a roadblock. I'm unable to extract the archive. I'm using 7-Zip and always end up with an "Unsupported compression method" error and a 0kb file.

Weird. Its compressed using LZMA2 with ultra compression method just like all the other archives I create. Make sure your version of 7zip can create LZMA2 archives. Or download 7zip and reinstall

There's the problem, my 7-Zip is outdated and doesn't have LZMA2. Thanks for the help!

Same problem, solved extracting with WinRar.

Tested in Rejuvenate 0.3.4 (PSM Unity 1.06 fw3.50), from PC and AndroidDefiler with success.

Very stable, just missing the other devs add the [exit] option in their homebrew, I do not know if anyone already has it, i have only tested CATSFC-libretro-VITA and GENPlusVITA and doesn´t have it.

I already tested FTP feature and works.

I like the simple design because it is very light and it is best to load heavy things from there instead of outside as GENPlusVITA for example.

Hey smoke what would you think of a menu system similar to the old evo-x set on the Xbox? We could mimic it sort of while showing all of the vitas stats on one side and games/home brew on the other.

All my home brews work with it since I've had this for almost a month. I also let RetroArch know of this and you can exit from the menu with it. I don't think they've implemented a way to get back to the RetroArch menu though yet.

I'm currently working with someone that's creating a much prettier menu and there's gonna be some changes in how homebrews should be released. If any Dev wants to know what these changes will be so that they can prepare and give input, send me a PM
