Unity/RetroArch Inquiry.

Post by Smoker1 » Thu Sep 24, 2015 6:03 am

How is the Vita Port of RetroArch? Have not tried it yet. I got everything setup, just havent taken the 3 E-mail Files to my Vita. Do you just load the .velf File and are able to transfer the Roms to a Directory in the Vita?
I have the PC App ready and waiting, I just have not taken my Vita, connected with the Email App and Installed the 3 Files needed for Unity.
How does Installing a Emu work on the Vita? Load up the .velf/.elf File, and set a Directory of where you want your Roms to go? I know every time you want to run a Emu you have to connect the Vita to the PC using the Unity PC App. But I just want to know how it works. So basically:
How are you able to Place the Roms where you want them? Then when you run the Emu, just point to where they are and presto?

Load up Vitaftp and put games on the Vita. Vitaftp is another .velf launched by dragging it onto the .bat for unity. You can also use Android device to start Vitaftp. Just leave the .velf homebrews on your pc in the folder next to the .bat for easy launch (better method is Android.) Retroarch prefers to have roms in a default folder but you can change it. I am having many issues with the snes cores for vita. Many things crash in settings when changed. It is getting better though. I have been using nightly builds for a week.

I am on 3.36 but it should work on any Vita that has rejuvenate and there is a special version for Unity as opposed to regular PSM Dev Assistant. Im guessing it should work.

I have troubles with Settings not saving and sometimes even Savegames just disappearing aswell, the emulation itself however is almost flawless for me. With CATSFC from Retroarch i can even play Seiken Densetsu 3 which is unplayable with the CATSFC port from skogaby for me for some reason.

Ok, so with VitaFTP, I can then Creat a Rom Folder to place all my Roms where I want, the Load up the RetroArch Core/s or any other Emu and Direct them to where the Roms are and Im good to go right? When I Load up a Emu, I can then Disconnect the Vita from my PC/Android Device until I want to Load up another Emu?

Similar problems here. There is very little documentation. I have used many of the nightly builds of retroarch as well. They are very promising but still a WIP.
