PSVita 3.18 + PSM Unity 1.05 - Cannot confirm dev license

Post by Beatnukem »

Hi,

I looked over various post in this forum but could not find a solution. I tried this several hours yesterday but no luck:

My vita is on 3.18 and I have PSM for Unity 1.05 installed (via PKG installer).

I follow those steps:
1. Start Unity Program on PC, start PSM for Unity on Vita, Vita connects and I copy the device number
2. I go to PSM+ for unity and enter my info.
3. I close PSM on the Vita and run email prog on vita. Then follow the steps for the 4 files from the email (open, error, close email app, repeat).
4. I extract the downloaded keys & seed and install it in the Unity PC prog.
Note: After doing this step the Key Icon under 'App Key' shows a little error (something like 'seed was updated, app key invalid'). Not sure if that matters tho.
Note: The tutorials are unclear if at that point the PSM app on the Vita should be running or not, I tried both but did not helped tho.
5. I then go to PSM+ and do the next step.
6. On the Vita I get the next email with the 2 files, follow the steps again.
7. Now If I start PSM app on the vita it will ask for an update and it still states 'PSM dev license could not be confirmed'
8. I can install the Defiler to the Vita (it actually installs it) but I cannot run it - I assume because my license is not confirmed.
9. No homebrew for me as I cannot run the Defiler :(

Is there anything I am missing?

Also does it matter that I use a different Email-Address on the PSM+ than on my vita (I forward the emails to the email account that I have access on my vita).

Ok update on my front:
After trying this again and again today I finally got it to work:

I always used the hackinformer psm+, which never worked for me:
http://hackinformer.com/psmplus/ui/psmdevunity.html

In my desperate tries I thentried the one that is hosted by wololo:
psmplus/

and voilà it actually made the difference!
My PSM Unity Dev app finally accepted the dev license on the very first try.
I am a little puzzled how this made the difference tho. I did the exact same steps I did 100 times before...

Unfortunately now I run into the next issues. I can now run the Defiler fine but when I run the hello world ELF it will lose connection half way thru :/ I reinstalled defiler couple of times (also used the PSM Unity PC app to uninstall the old one first) but no luck.
Windows Firewall is turned off on my PC, so not sure why the connection fails, specially since it can connect initially.

Console output:

I have found that I get the least amount of elf transfer errors if I drop the elf onto the run_homebrew_unity bat file and then load up VitaDefiler.

Yea that's what I am doing too:

First run the bat with the ELF. -> Waiting for Vita to connect
Then start the Defiler.

It starts up fine but then it always fails with the above mentioned error:

Code: Select all

Error connecting to Vita network: Der angegebene Host ist unbekannt
(German for: Unknown Host).

It looks like its something wrong in the Defiler Client which makes it fail to connect to the PC.
Is there any way to get more information about what went wrong? E.g. compile the defiler myself with some more error logging etc?

edit: I am using 'rejuvenate-0.3.1-beta'

Same issue here with me. Did you ever figure out an answer?

Unfortunately not, had no time to dig further tho.

The next steps I would try:
Use a different router/wireless network to see if it is an issue with the network.
Use a different PC to see if it is an issue with the OS.
If the error persists it is most likely an issue with the DefilerClient itself.

Would be super useful to know if someone got this working with:
PS Vita 3.18
PSM Unity 1.05
rejuvenate-0.3.1-beta

also maybe we want to open a new thread instead of reusing this thread (which discussed a different issue initially)

Ok update:

Finally got it working. Seemed to be an issue with the network.

After I created a hotspot directly on the laptop and connected my vita via that hotspot directly I was able to run the hello world elf just fine :)

Thank you! I was having the same exact problem with the license on 3.18.

The wololo psm+ wasn't loading properly for me at first. I had to refresh a couple of times for it to stop telling me to contact an "admin".
