Unity: VitaDefiler Gives Failed Auth Error

Post by Jab007 » Sun Aug 09, 2015 6:07 am

I'm trying to run vitadefilerclient but it disconnects, reconnects, and disconnects again; and an error pops-up on the vita stating that it "failed the authentication to execute [the] application. Please re-create a Device Seed and App Key using...Unity Editor or Publishing Utility for Unity."

Can anyone help?

- Thanks :D

When you ran the publishing utility, did you double/triple check to see if your numbers were a little off? That seems like the only logical answer I can think of.

I'm having the same issue, I have tried running it without USB or Wifi enabled and I get the same error, so I think it may be something to do with the USB drivers, I'll have to play around with it some more.

My problem solved this way:

Post by peter768 » Mon Aug 10, 2015 10:59 pm

I noticed I was getting only the second email(i.e not the license one) only after I checked my gmail online. For some reason they were the only ones(plural, as I pressed submit more than enough times :3) that didn't show, and at the time I thought since I was getting some, that was all of them. Forwarding the mail to myself, following the same instructions with that one too, and then simply reinstalling VitaDefiler did the trick. Didn't even have to follow the troubleshooting to delete the seed and app key(after I tried that like three times :P) But hey, I got to understand the whole process in-depth as I was messing around ^_^

In short, check your email in a browser for one you haven't opened yet, it has more than two attachments!

I've already checked the attachments; and that's not one of the problems. I used Yahoo cause Gmail doesn't work with vita anymore; it says that the device doesn't meet modern security protocols.

I wouldn't know about gmail not working with vita, since that's what I use. Perhaps you enabled some extra security on your gmail account? Search google for two step verification and see if it's disabled on your gmail. (the first result should be the right page).
I would try to make gmail work if I were you since that's the one most people use with a high success rate(worked for me too)

I managed to fix my problem, I rebuilded the database on the ps vita , Not sure if that was necessary and started again but this time used the PSM+ from wololo rather than hackinformer and everything worked fine, No auth error hope this helps someone else
