is it possible? Installing exploitables with MrGas/EML trick

Post by Kilimbi » Wed Jul 01, 2015 5:45 pm

Just wondering...
Would it be possible to install Toukiden Kiwami demo with Mr.Gas/EML trick to have HBL on 3.51 instead of registering and download from Japanese PSN Account?

From what I know (what The_Zett told me) installing via the pkg installer, or any other method will leave you without a license. You can't even install a demo via the pgk installer and make it run from the live area.

I tried to use the demo off the Japanese PSN myself. However, I kept running into the error code of C1-2858-3. Don't know what it means, really, but I'm assuming that the version currently in the stores is patched. Plus, the demo has DRM on it, so unless a public way to sign licenses is released, you wouldn't be able to do it anyways. Though It may be possible to use a backup of the exploitable copy. This would allow those who have grabbed it from the Japanese PSN to properly load VHBL. After all, it's back on PSN.

Pretty sure that's the missing license error. Or you're on 3.52 and it's a patched exploit error.

Missing license error? I'm not sure how the license would be mssing. i can play the demo just fine, the error only pops up if I try to run VHBL from within the game. I've switched my Vita onto a japanese PSN account using the mem card swap EML and my PS3.

EDIT: I may just play around with this some more. Perhaps theres a way to make it work.

What firmware version are you running?

I'm currently on 3.51, which is the firmware needed for VHBL.

Have a look here. From this forum post I gather it's not loading due to corrupted file, or maybe fixing it is as easy as switching to ymenu.

I'll take a look at that and post back in here in a bit.

Good news everyone! It works. Toukiden's PSP demo is back on PSN, and I can still run VHBL off it.
VHBL refused to work until I added yMenu into the mix.

EDIT: As I'm painfully aware this thread has nothing to do with what I've managed, if someone could make a proper thread for everyone to see, I'd be happy.
