Few questions regarding the upcoming Henkaku 3.65+ hack

Post by alexg1989 »

Is there any way to play Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike on Henkaku? I have it on the Switch via the 30th anniversary Collection, but the dpad on the joycon, and on the gamepad is horrible. It's almost as bad as the PSP 1000 DPAD. On the other hand, the dpad is almost perfect on the Vita, so I'd like to play 3rd Strike on this system.

What are the best emulators for Henkaku? I mostly want the usual, snes, nes, gba etc...

ALso, I used to use the PSP hacks waaay back before the Vita came out, but I've been out of the loop for years. What are the best homebrew apps as well? What are the essentials, basically?

In the pinned post there is a list of emulators you can look http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?f=116&t=46136 , i don't know which one is the best, sorry, but PFBA is awesome for arcade games.

the essentials:
VitaShell, file manager
https://github.com/TheOfficialFloW/VitaShell/releases

SD2Vita driver, for using microsd cards in the catridge slot
https://github.com/xyzz/gamecard-microsd/releases

Adrenaline, PSP CFW that run on Vita
https://github.com/TheOfficialFloW/Adrenaline/releases

From the same pinned post the coolest homebrews i think are "taiHEN/taiHENkaku plugins" and "Use the right analogue stick to control the camera look in PSP games", also look here http://wololo.net/2018/06/09/is-the-psv ... t-in-2018/

Hope it helps, i lost track of the homebrew news since last year :(

I definitely plan on getting the microsd adapter gamecard. But a few questions about that. Is it easy to remove and continue using regular Vita game cards that I bought?

Can I leave my 16gb Vita mem card with all my purchased Vita games inserted while the game card sd adapter is also in the system? Can they both be used at the same time?

Has transferring things from pc to system and system to pc been made easy like it was on psp or do we still have to use CMA?

Can I still access psn with henkaku? I ask this ONLY because I still have a game or two on PSN that I purchased that I haven't yet transferred back to my Vita and backed up on my computer. I think I'm on 3.65 so I'd like to stay on that and use the permanent hack method. If not, then can a "backup" version of a legally purchased ps1 game access the save file that is already on the system. I believe I do have my FFVII save data backed up, just not the game itself. I had 70+ hrs on it so I'd like not to have to restart it.

Also, what's the most reputable source from which to buy the micro SD adapter for Vita? I have a phat 3g Vita, if that matters.

Also, do any of the emulators for snes or gba run the games if they're zip files?

I have the same doubts that you have  , in fact, i'm on 3.68 with a lot of digital purchased games that I do not want to lose, maybe another user can answer that, in the meanwhile here is a tutorial http://wololo.net/2017/07/20/setting-sd ... e-windows/ but maybe there is some enhacements since then.

1.- You can transfer files over wifi or by USB with VitaShell.

2.- NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DON'T USE CMA!! :o :o :o , use QCMA instead https://codestation.github.io/qcma/ , don't worry if you used CMA before, just put the same folders that CMA created on the QCMA, and don't forget to check the offline mode:

Of what I remember is you can enter only if you are on the same last firmware or the previous, so in your case you can't.

But there is a workaround, you need http://wololo.net/2018/03/27/ps-vita-re ... port-tool/ with "Nonpdrm" plugin and you can gain acces again. THIS METHOD IS NOT ALLOWED TO TALK IN WOLOLO.NET BECAUSE PEOPLE GOES NUTS WITH PIRACY, so don't ask how to do it. Just google some tutorial or search in youtube.

I think retroarch or its variants can load zip roms.
