[SOLVED] PS2 Slim Exploit Problem

Post by Pawel »

Hey,
So it tried the Agent Under Fire exploit on my PS2 Slim, but I have a problem.
I am currently at the last part where you have to swap discs and press X on the Driving mission.
I have done everything correct. I have tried doing it about 5 times, and it still doesn't work.

So the actual problem is this:
When I start the mission, a black screen comes up but uLaunchELF doesn't boot. I have waited 10 minutes for it but it still didn't load up.

If this helps:
I have used DVD+R,
and PS2 is model: SCPH-70003.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :D

EDIT: When I swap the disc, the main music stops playing. I don't think this is suppose to happen as I have watched tutorials and they all had the music still playing when the disc was swapped.

I've not any experience with Swap Magic, but I don't suppose you have a Action Replay Max disc? If so, I can lead you through an alternative method of hacking your console.

Maybe you need to block the 3 sensors that tell the Playstation 2 when the lid is open.

When you open the lid, the disc is still spinning right?

Yes, it still spins but I don't think it reads the disc.
I saw some videos on YouTube and the comments say that I should use DVD-R

Hmm I am not too sure that will solve the problem but a DVD-R is cheap so give it a shot.

EDIT: I just had a thought, maybe you can run a ps2 emulator on the pc and see if that disc will boot the .elf proper. If not, maybe the .elf you added is the trouble.

I have copied the DRIVING.ELF (uLaunchELF) onto my desktop from the burned CD, and uLaunchELF loaded up normally.

EDIT2: So I actually just installed Free McBoot using the disc. I just reburned it and it worked. But now when I insert my backup of a game into the ps2 and run ESR, it say's Invalid Media in Drive.
And also, when I run uLaunchELF, i don't press anything and it goes straight to mc0:/SYS-CONF

uLaunchELF is really weird with controllers. Out of my 4 controllers, only one can properly control, the others automatically zoom through menus/press random stuff. It's really weird but I think it's just your controller.
