Hey, if I install Free McBoot on a slim PS2, can I take the already prepared memory card and run it in a PS2 Phat with a broken disc drive? Thanks for the tutorial, going to pickup 007 Agent Under Fire.

I tried the disc swapping method using fifa 2005 for hours without success. So frustrating
Eventually my ps2 dvd drive broke and now, the game spins very slowly with the ps2 saying disc read error
Anyone know what happen to my ps2? I googled around with ppl saying to either clean or replace the lens. Any advice would be nice
Do any of your other games work?
sadly now the drive does not spin anymore. I shouldnt have open up the ps2 and tinker with the dvd drive. I even broke the fan connection to the motherboard and re soldered it. Im hoping to get another dvd drive to replace my current one.
At least the ps2 still boots up after all that

Yes you can! That's the best part, the memory card is technically the only thing "hacked" because it stores all the files, the PS2 is not even affected.

Sorry to hear... Hopefully you can get it working.

Hey,
I'm having trouble with the last bit.
I have done everything as instructed, but when i press X on the driving mission, a black screen comes up and it never loads uLaunchELF.
Any suggestions?
My PS2 is model: SCPH-70003
I used DVD+R.

What brand name is the DVD+R? I've heard that using DVD-R is more trustworthy but I'm not too sure.

Underground 2 doesnt work. For some people it does and for some it doesnt.I did everything right.
People are saying since there are 2 .ELF files you have to replace them both.Is this true?

I got a question.
I got a chipped phat ps2.
Freemcboot can be installed on a memory card (removable medium)
Can I use a backup of a game required to install that on one memory card directly, then use that memory card on an other (hackable) ps2,or does it have to be the same ps2?Basically,my original ps2 laser sorta died...
Also, are the save files (from usb loaded games) still saved in the softmod memory card,do they get saved in a second memory card,or the usb medium?
