Rebuild PSP LZ decompression from C code via Python's LZMA module

Trying to rebuild the PSP's LZ decompression from pkg2zip's existing C code . Found a short compressed example with only 80/0x50 bytes that becomes 32768/0x8000 bytes with a simple pattern: first 28672/0x7000 bytes are 0x00, while the other 4096/0x1000 are 0x20. Also found one single occurrence [1] ...

Re: PSP (OFW 6.61) does not connect to PS3 (OFW 4.82)

To make sure that I have a 100% clean OFW I created a Pandora setup (service mode battery via serial hack plus magic memory stick), then installed OFW 5.00 via the IPL load and it did indeed clear flash0 to flash3. After that I installed OFW 6.60, but still no connection possible :( At the end it tu...

Re: PSP (OFW 6.61) does not connect to PS3 (OFW 4.82)

Lent a PSP-3004 and was able to connect this PSP and my PS3.
Therefore it is really an issue with my PSP and not the PS3 or usb cables.
Next is to find out if it is software-wise (e.g. due to the previous CFW) or hardware-wise.

So how can I recover OFW 6.61 100% correctly on my PSP?

[SOLVED] PSP (OFW 6.61) does not connect to PS3 (OFW 4.82)

I just got a used PSP with CFW 3.90 ME, updated it to OFW 6.61 and activated it for my account. To speed up the downloads from the PSN Store I downloaded some PSP games to my PS3 (OFW 4.82). But when trying to copy those games to the PSP or pair the PSP for Remote Play, then my PS3 says that there a...

Does updating to OFW 6.61 remove a previous CFW completely?

I just got a used PSP with CFW 3.90 ME-2 and updated it to OFW 6.61 by placing the EBOOT.PBP into ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE and executing it.
As I have an issue connecting to my PS3 (OFW 4.82) I wonder if the flashing of OFW 6.61 really removed all changes of that previous CFW.

Re: Calculating title update download links with HMAC key

Btw does anyone know what the hashes in the update package URLs are? Example URL: http://gs.ww.np.dl.playstation.net/ppkg/np/PCSH00242/PCSH00242_T6/ 650e9d8042dd5a01 /HP0700-PCSH00242_00-GGGENESISPSVEN00-A0101-V0100- d20e9a97cca6e1082b6e6c2073411ba8181a52ac -PE.pkg 650e9d8042dd5a01 (64-bit/16 chars)...

Re: Calculating title update download links with HMAC key

Enhanced mmozeiko's Python script a little bit: https://gist.github.com/windsurfer1122/37997c4e2495ce60940d1edf21d91a53 Enhancements: When using the script in automated scripts then error messages on stdout can be harmful for further processing. Therefore implemented eprint() for error messages. Som...
