Re: [Tutorial] Installing Steam on PS4 Linux

Looks like it finds the device, but cannot load the driver correctly, right? ip addr still doen't show mmc0. I'm now booting from regular FW 1.76. Thanks for posting your output. Seems you have the same issue as D-ecks. Network device is found but doesn't respond to any commands. I'll try investiga...

Re: [Tutorial] Installing Steam on PS4 Linux

Yes, that works. I'm loading the payload via wifi. Maybe it makes a difference that I'm currently on 1.76 recovery FW? I think, I'll give regular FW 1.76 a try, but I don't think this should make a difference, right? I don't think it matters but haven't tested with recovery fw. When I try this, bas...

Re: [Tutorial] Installing Steam on PS4 Linux

I have the same problem, but with a manual installation of Fedora following OsirisX' tutorial. D-ecks' distro did not boot. Details: Fedora boots sucessfully with "new" bzimage and I can start some linux games, e.g. Badland. I put all files in the right directories, created the module script, and m...

Re: [Tutorial] Installing Steam on PS4 Linux

Maybe something wrong with kernel flags (other playground). Can you try to boot with primary DNS - 89.108.88.221 and secondary - 0.0.0.0 and recheck this? I can confirm that it still works using default kernel flags with that site in playground. I'd like to hear if anyone else is having the same is...

Re: [Tutorial] Installing Steam on PS4 Linux

I tried with your distro (replaced with my modified kernel of course) and seems to work fine.

For some reason it fails to load wifi driver on your end. Output should look something like this:

Can you post what you get for these commands.

Code: Select all

dmesg | grep sdhci
dmesg | grep mmc
I think wifi firmware may be failing to load. You can also try running insmod command directly after Fedora has booted without the sdhci.modules script.

Re: [Tutorial] Installing Steam on PS4 Linux

Also I can't wait for the updates. next step for me is psx emulation if possible. But I reached a different problem now. I manage to install steam no problems whatsoever, but when I try to restart the UI with the system restart gdm command it loads up and hangs on a gray screen with a mouse cursor....

It looks like it's failing to load radeon drivers at startup. Did you run Steam the way I described in the tutorial with LD_PRELOAD path pre-defined? You can also try the fix described here.

Re: [Tutorial] Installing Steam on PS4 Linux

it's should be 2.4.65, right? It's displaying version of DRM not LIBDRM which 2.4.65 refers to. DRM is built into kernel while libdrm is the interface for apps to access it from user space. I have not experimented with emulators on PS4 yet but maybe will get around to it later. Dolphin is supposed ...
