Remember that the extra memory in the slim and onwards won't be unlocked. IIRC it is a setting in the param.SFO. Remove it if it exists? Just a guess :-) no computer around to test right now.

This trick might be possible on firmware kernel modules to get permanent HEN on non-pandrorable PSPs, i was not able to do it but i was not trying that much. Since 6.30, I believe the only files left with CMAC "signature" are games, for compatibility reason. All firmware files are signed with ECDSA...

If you could throw a signed prx in the boot chain then you could do patches to make it a perma cfw. Wouldn't necessarily have to be a vshmain, but you would be better talking to the cfw developers.

Looks from the source it has some m33 specific things in it - not to mention kernel stuffs. After that has been removed maybe it'll work?
