Installing a Custom Firmware on your PSP Street has never been so easy. In this page I’m describing the easiest possible way for you to install the most reliable Custom Firmware on your PSP: Pro CFW.
Installing Pro CFW on your PSP Street is simple, free, and is not much risky than installing a Firmware update on your device. It does not require any advanced hack technique or hardware modification. There’s basically 3 easy steps (you were expecting more? Sorry to disappoint):
1. Download the necessary files
2. Update your PSP To firmware 6.60
Skip this step if you already have Firmware 6.60 installed on your PSP.
In order to install Pro CFW on your PSP, you will need to first update your PSP to the 6.60 Sony firmware (which, at the time of this writing, is the latest firmware released by Sony), if that’s not already the case. There are versions of Pro CFW that will run on older firmwares, but updating to 6.60 will guarantee the best compatibility for your official games.
To install the 6.60 Firmware, just unzip the archive on your PSP’s memory stick, in the “PSP” folder (you should end up with an “UPDATE” folder in the PSP folder, if you do things correctly), then run the update from your PSP menu.
Trouble upgrading? Ask for help on our forums
3. Install Pro CFW
The Pro CFW archive provides several subfolders in the “PSP/GAME” folder. Two of them are interesting for us: the FastRecovery and the PROUPDATE folders. Those two need to be extracted to the PSP/GAME folder on your memory stick.
Assuming you extracted the files correctly, you will see a few new applications in your PSP’s Game menu. The one you will want to run in order to install Pro CFW is “Pro Update”. Just run it.
That’s it. You can erase the “ProUpdate” folder from your PSP, but keep the “FastRecovery” one.
4. DAILY USE
That’s it, I said 3 steps 🙂 Welcome to the world of Custom Firmwares. There’s no additional step required to install the Pro CFW. However, every time you reboot your console, you will have to reactivate ProCFW, which is done by running the Fast Recovery tool from your PSP’s Game menu, and takes literally 5 seconds.
5. Power user
In this section you will find additional tricks/steps if you want to improve or customize your experience with a Custom Firmware on your PSP Street
Some people think that it is a burden to reactivate the CFW every time they reboot their console. It is important to note that this is needed only if you reboot the console, not if you put it into sleep mode. Most people use the sleep mode 90% of the time without ever realizing it. Trust me, I’ve used several PSPs for years now, running the Fast Recovery tool is not a problem in your daily usage.

Thanks Man That really worked youre an genius and a gamers hero and life saver many thanks Jordan Matthews

Hello,
I have firmware 6.60 and Pro CFW on PSP Street E1000!
Now I have a game Fifa12.iso
Please give me an instruction, what I have to do now?
I read to create an iso ordner somewhere on psp??? But where???
PSP/GAMES/ISO or where??? U wrote to create it in PSP Root, but where ist PSP root to find???
Please help me!
root=ms0:\ mEMORYsTICK 😉
Make a floder called ISO at the root and one at
ms0:/PSP/GAME/
now you only have to find where to store the iso file 😛
now its freeze :(((
i found a way i unistall pro 10 fix cfw and install lcfw me1.8 i hold R from psp when i run launch getting in recovery meny > config> disable vsh menu and work i can load iso
but now i cant press select and when i go change my nickname sellect goes auto cycle
can i downgrade ??? has arrived with 6.60
vahious as far as i know you may can downgrade to 6.50 (without brick risk) but no cfw so you have to update again.
Yes you can use both cfw..
..better boot your psp into ofw first.
If you got problems with game backups you can switch iso driver. Lcfw got 2 pro-cfw got 3 iso driver ;o)
I have same problem as yours with the select button.
My problem is that after launching the “pro update”, the installation goes fine, abut after reboot my psp freezes, I can’t even “hit” “fast recovery”.The whole OS just freezes.:(
I have tried so many cfw’s.
Any Solutions?
Not working
Hey.. ahmm..
I was going to put a CFW in a PSP E1000, but since the kid is lazy.. I was wondering if I could put the CFW 6.20 PRO-C with Permanent Fix working on the PSP E1000
Will it work..? Any risks? (other than the usual ones..)
I haven’t touched the PSP yet, so I haven’t checked the FW it has..
It has OFW 6.60 :\
And I won’t bother.. I’ll install CFW 6.60 😛
i crnt install CIPL Flasher it says DATA is CORRUPTED,what do i do?
CIPL Flasher isn´t working with Psp-E start/use the other floder 😉
psp E1002 does not have any WLAN to play multiplayer ? is there anyway to play multiplayer?
PSP E1004 sucks in one area n that is multiplayer. .atleast it should have had ad hoc mode. .wanted to buy 3000 but couldnt find one. .rest its a fine machine
got a psp e1000 street, tried following instructions on this site and still can’t get cfw installed on psp ( 6 attempts so far) it already came with 6.60 software installed.
can anybody help please
What error do you get? Where are you blocked?
I had 6.60 ver, on my PSP when I got it, so installed the non-permanent fix and it works well.
I have a question though.. I have a 4 GB memory stick currently, but I am planning to get a larger one.
What steps would I need to take to make sure, everything is alright?
I installed as you said but it doesn’t allow me to install the pro update I created a folder in the root just an iso n cso folder placed the games in iso..folder I still can’t game..its sad..any advice please
I got it to work but the data still says corrupted do I install the Cipl aswell?coz I just installed pro update…
Now I just need the game to work says data corrupted…but I have the 6.60 Pro C showing atleast and the menu is iSo mode m33 what’s should I do to make the iso game work anybody?
You can switch between 3 iso driver m33 is one of it
(from old ~ 5.xx cfw)
prom is new and only at pro cfw ..should be the best.
np is sony orginal.
In case some backups don´t work switch it. Maybe you note faster loading to.
Cipl is not for e1000.
Btw writte all floder name in caps ISO not iso
If it still don´t work youu´ve done something wrong or the backup is corrupt.
for some strange reson when i update the firmware and turn off the device it reverts back to original firmware, do i have to run pro update everytime ????
ignore that comment – just read step 3 lol
No one answered till yet..
And so, I am asking again..
What steps would I have to take, if I am changing my memory stick from the one, where I had done the flashing?
Maybe copy hen. If you use plugins copy them it´s importend if you reboot that they are used in the same way as befor (aktiv or off). You can switch ms without turn of psp.
I tried following all the Directions for my PSP 1000
and well
when I try to start the 6.60 OFW I get an error stating “Game cannot be started”
I tried turning Disabling the M33 network update
and change the Version.txt already
i have no idea how to get this thing to run
any help would be appreciated
I am running 5.50 Prometheus 4 atm and all games are running normally its just this update that wont
oops i posted in the wrong section ahaha
Wololo,
Thanks for the tut but i have a problem with my psp street. Menu, start and select buttons are not working…

Somebody here that knows… speak goddammit 😀
Thanks in advance! 🙂
Guys i need help with installing Dlc.
I want to install the dlc files for Rock Band Unplugged but i’m missing the param.pbp file and i can’t find it on google.
What can i do?
P.S.(I’m fairly new to all this)
help! followed everything by the letter and installed it all on my psp e1003 system but when I go into the games it says corrupted data.
has anyone got any idea where I could be going wrong? I got the latest 6.60 firmware as I only brought it yesterday!
Make sure you got eboot at the correct floder. Try to run Wagic homebrew since it´s signed you don´t need a hen to run it.
tried everything again, reinstalled all the 3 programmes onto my card into the games folder and also created an ISO folder but the folder is still reading as corrupted data, even without any games on there but I got no idea what im doing wrong.
any helpers???
Run the Proupdater first. After that you can delete the Proupdater file and start your cfw with ProRecovery eboot. CIPL FLasher is not for e1000 psp. Can you run wagic?
ok this is what ive done so far:
installed the 3 files but deleted the flasher.
I installed the pro updater and then it rebooted.
I then deleted the updater file leaving me with just the recovery file, I then ran the recovery file.
once I did that, I plugged my psp into my pc and added ISO under psp/game folder.
when I unplugged my psp I went back into the folder and the iso folder was still showing as corrupted data.
I got no idea what ive done wrong when ive followed it to the letter. 🙁
you have to make the folder ISO on the root of the psp and add the game over there!
Thanks, been havinh the same issues exactly, gonna try it now!!!
hi. im very new to all this, not sure what wagic is (sorry if I sound a bit thick)
ok, wagic runs fine, but when I try to add iso (tried both upper and lower case) in games folder, still getting corrupted data, I even tried a completely different name with same effect.
im baffled about this one!
2 floders. 1 at the root for your backups and 1 at GAME floder (always caps).
ho toBsucht, I have put iso in virtually every folder to see what happens but still saying corrupted data.
I really don’t know what else to try to get this thing working 🙁
You can try to switch iso driver but i believe you still got them at the wrong floder. ms0/= root –>
ms0:/ISO/x-YOUR-backup-xx.iso
ms0:/PSP/GAME/ISO ……to see them in xmb.
If this don´t work your image is defect.
hi. i have put an ISO file in every folder and even with the folder empty im still getting corrupt folder.
im very new to all this so any help in basic instructions will be a great help.
thanks again.
you need to create a folder on the root of your memory stick and name it “ISO” then put your .iso games in there
pls give me the address for the root of the memory stick. I am new and dont know how to access the memory stick’s root
you need to put proupdate and fast recovery independently in the game sub folder in the psp folder i had also got this warning that corrupt data
Copy all the data from your memory card to your pc then format the card using the psp’s built in format option that will automatically create all the folders from the start and then try to put the ISO in the GAME folder. Had the same problem myself, tried this and it worked. Been running smoothly ever since….Hope yours works too.
Pro CFW works on my psp very well. But when i put another memory card to my psp and run the fast recovery or pro cfw,it say that the update is not compatible with my system..
I dont know y but this happens only when i put another memory card
I believe you use two differnt versions of Pro cfw replace fast recovery or run the same updater on both memory cards.
Thank You!
I wish Happy Easter to my son with
installation of Pro CFW on son’s e1004
(default 6.60 firmware) and Minecraft.
Your’s tutorial is simple and working.
Happy Easter You too!
can u tell how did u manage to get it to work on your psp
How long does this take usually? Can it be done whilst my PSP is on charge? The risks of bricking it is literally none it has been said, will it only brick if it is interrupted during install? Running OFW 6.60 atm and looking to install CFW. Got my PSP yesterday and yes, I am a total noob to this CFW scene. Any help greatly appreciated.
Takes less than 10 minutes total. You can install with the adapter plugged in but it is recommended to also have the battery in and charged, in case your kids trip on tha adapter cord. Bricks can only happen if you interrupt the install process.
Hi Wololo
Thanks for the reply, much appreciated. Okay so charged battery great,I don’t have kids so shouldn’t be a problem I’ll just leave plugged in on the side and go back to it.
Does it show a progress bar at all or is it just done when it’s done.
Many thanks
kindly advise me how to load a ISO games been trying, i can’t seem to get it right it appears as corrupted I manage to install GBA emulator and games are working but I’m not wining on the ISO
plz you assistant will be appreciated I have a psp street 1004 cfw6.60 pro c
Hi again guys, I have two memory stick pro duos.
Does this mean I have to install CFW on both? Also i’ve seen flash mentioned alot – what is this??
Any help as always is appreciated.
it may not work becuase after that u have to check if the iso file is still there becuase for me it disappeared after a bit
Is this safe at all? Does it break your psp when CFW is installed? If you say no, then maybe ill install it
thank you so much my friend!
PSP fat model is freezing after run the CFW 6.60, i really don’t know why, but i’m gonna downgrade this little buddy and i’m gonna try another CFW, thank you anyway. 🙂
I am having a problem please help me whenever i try to install the firmware my psp says a serious problem has occurred in red screen then i have to restart the psp. Its not getting installed please help
