Installing a Custom Firmware on your PSP Street has never been so easy. In this page I’m describing the easiest possible way for you to install the most reliable Custom Firmware on your PSP: Pro CFW.
Installing Pro CFW on your PSP Street is simple, free, and is not much risky than installing a Firmware update on your device. It does not require any advanced hack technique or hardware modification. There’s basically 3 easy steps (you were expecting more? Sorry to disappoint):
1. Download the necessary files
2. Update your PSP To firmware 6.60
Skip this step if you already have Firmware 6.60 installed on your PSP.
In order to install Pro CFW on your PSP, you will need to first update your PSP to the 6.60 Sony firmware (which, at the time of this writing, is the latest firmware released by Sony), if that’s not already the case. There are versions of Pro CFW that will run on older firmwares, but updating to 6.60 will guarantee the best compatibility for your official games.
To install the 6.60 Firmware, just unzip the archive on your PSP’s memory stick, in the “PSP” folder (you should end up with an “UPDATE” folder in the PSP folder, if you do things correctly), then run the update from your PSP menu.
Trouble upgrading? Ask for help on our forums
3. Install Pro CFW
The Pro CFW archive provides several subfolders in the “PSP/GAME” folder. Two of them are interesting for us: the FastRecovery and the PROUPDATE folders. Those two need to be extracted to the PSP/GAME folder on your memory stick.
Assuming you extracted the files correctly, you will see a few new applications in your PSP’s Game menu. The one you will want to run in order to install Pro CFW is “Pro Update”. Just run it.
That’s it. You can erase the “ProUpdate” folder from your PSP, but keep the “FastRecovery” one.
4. DAILY USE
That’s it, I said 3 steps 🙂 Welcome to the world of Custom Firmwares. There’s no additional step required to install the Pro CFW. However, every time you reboot your console, you will have to reactivate ProCFW, which is done by running the Fast Recovery tool from your PSP’s Game menu, and takes literally 5 seconds.
5. Power user
In this section you will find additional tricks/steps if you want to improve or customize your experience with a Custom Firmware on your PSP Street
Some people think that it is a burden to reactivate the CFW every time they reboot their console. It is important to note that this is needed only if you reboot the console, not if you put it into sleep mode. Most people use the sleep mode 90% of the time without ever realizing it. Trust me, I’ve used several PSPs for years now, running the Fast Recovery tool is not a problem in your daily usage.

Thank you so much for the guide! I’ve been so confused about how to do this. I can now play Pokemon! XD
Heya! Where did you get the Pokemon for the PSP Street? Thanks!

Hi,I bought a psp street (e-1002) for my son,i take it this firmware will work on this model.Do i have to do anything special to memory card, where do i put the games on the card to play them, do all region of games work
thanks for any help
You have to put the games in the ISO folder on the memory card.
Which folder is this?
Make it. It goes on the root of the memory stick.
iso folder dude !!!!!!
great stuff I was able to do it in my PSP E1004 without any problem! just don’t know what else do I need to play ISO games from the memory card? it’s possible to play ISO our they need to be converted? how can we do that?
Thanks
I cannot find a proper answer to this question: is it utterly necessary to use fast recovery every time
I turn my psp, ecen if I want to play a game on a legit UMD?
Hey wololo! I’ve noticed a mistake:
“That being said, it is possible on most models of PSP Street to downgrade to Firmware 6.20, and install a permanent CFW on this firmware.”
That isn’t possible, the Chronoswitch Downgrader only works on TA-095v1, and also PSP Street cannot be downgraded at all, because the firmware 6.60 has an extra support for a No-wifi model. That’s not possible as theoretically (except doing a reverse engineering of a whole OFW), as practically.
Probably you innacurately copied the info from PSP-3000?
Thanks a lot, you’re right, I removed this section.
mmm.. it´s StepS from talk… mm sounds like it´s true btw Psp-street is delivered with 6.39 probably not deeper 😉
No, not 6.39. The early ones with 6.50 and the recent ones with 6.60.
Mad walkthru. And u are right about fastrecovery. reboot and homebrew away!!!
One question, what if I get another memory card? Do I have to repeat the whole process or would simply copying all the content from the old one to the new one be enough?
what does the psp e1004 look like
Hey I was just wondering if i Should get a PSP e1000 street because my perents wont get me a Vita because its too expensive. So i dont know really and does this system mess up ur PSP?
no (~1mb from your memory stick) .. don´t mess with the flash
hey wololo…i just bought psp e1004 and its manual is in not in english. and i have a few questions ..
1.it does not have wifi but does it have multi play?
2. can i share a game from ps3 tp my psp or from psp to another psp.
this is my first one.
ad-hoc to usb
I have a PSP E1002 with the OFW 6.60 and I’m considering installing the ProCFW. One thing I’d like to know before hand, How do you completely uninstall the ProCFW and revert the PSP back to it’s original official firmware?
I’d like to know this before I install any CFW in case I need to go back to the OFW for some reason.
Rebooting the console is enough to put you back to Official firmware.
If you want to really clean up all the files to remove any trace of the custom firmware, there is an “uninstall” option in the Pro CFW menu, which I assume will clean up the flash files.
What wololo means is , by running the PRO Updater , there’s an option to uninstall the CFW ( When you have launched the updater the option “Press Triangle to uninstall CFW” is used to uninstall the cfw )
does the psp e1000 has the permanent patch?
Jur: no
I just bought a new PSP E1004 and a new memory card. The thing is,
i’ve imported some media files from my PC to my memory card but it wont play any content. My question is,does it need any particular firmware or i didnt have any idea at all,can u please help by giving any simple and quick solution…im desperate…plizzz Help???????
By going thru’ ur reply and review,do i need to download the CFW,my device comes with OFW6.60…????
Please make a quick reply????

not all media files can be played with psp. Cfw helps a lot to play more videos and music files.
Hey friend just download “MEDIA GO” software in your computer.
just curious guys ill be getting my psp street hopefully soon does this work on all psps street i mean like the E1000 , the E1001 , the E1002 , the E1003 and the E1004 ?
and is it safe i mean it will not brick my psp ?
and thanks.
It works on all models of PSP Street, yes.
The risk of bricking when installing Pro CFW is minimal, it is actually less than if you install an official Firmware from Sony, because Pro CFW does not override existing files
thanks for the fast repley one last thing i am curious what is the diffrence between the models ?
why is there E1000 and E1003 an E1004 ?
and of course one more thing can it be fixed if it is bricked ?
and btw this is tested on all models i understand from ur post ?
sorry for so many questions guys but will my psp still read UMDs if i do this ?
ok a few more questions whats the diffrence between the models? and i understand from ur post this is tested on all models? and will it still read UMDs ? and my final question where can i get games from?
sorry guys i have been reading around just wanna know whats the diffrence between Pro CFW and the 6.60 PRO B10 ? and from where can i download psp ISO games.
Pro cfw and 6.60 pro b10 are the same thing. It is like asking the difference between the iphone and the iphone 4s. 🙂
Dont ask about warez on this site. You can rip your own umds to convert them to isos.
listen bro.. u can purchase or download games from PlayStationStore… And another way is that goto http://www.google.com in search if u want game gta san andreaz, than search gta san andreaz for psp game download torrent (requires utorrent in your computer. their will be several results. look at their links, you will find a link starting with kat.ph….. open that download .torrent file and open it. Select the path and click ok your download will start
and one more thing will wagic work on this CFW ??? it seems really awseome and i would love to play .
and sorry for all these questions and thanks alot guys.
Yes, wagic works on pro cfw
hi again i am curious just all psp homebrews work on this and is there any risk of bricking when trying out a homebrew on this .?
thanks alot wololo ur the man.
games shouldn´t brick your device maybe some apps if they writte files to flash. Just googel the homebrew name if it isn´t save to use you should find a warrnig and you know the “readme” inside the downloads^^.
To be save enable flash protection.
how do u enable flash protection ?

the one do i hav 2 download d the official firmware 6.60 from d link above? .i already hav it,it was der in the psp wen i bought it.
then you can skip the ofw update and just copy the pro-cfw files
THIS SEEMS THE EASIEST WAY FOR A NOVICE WHO KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT PSP. THANKS A LOT AND CHEERS.
CARRIED OUT THE STEPS BUT UNABLE TO RUN NFS GAME. wHERE SHOULD I EXTRACT THE ISO FILE. SHOULD IT BE IN THE GAMES FOLDER WHERE THE FAST RECOVERY ONE IS? FOR THAT MATTER SHOULD ALL EXTRACTED GAME FILES (RAR) BE INSTALLED IN GAMES FOLDER ABOVE. A REPLY AT THE EARLIEST WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED.
put your iso or cso file into a floder ISO at the root close to the PSP floder (same place as the plugins floder)
Then your games should be shown in xmb game.
can i use the hack for psp go?
There is a specific page for the pspgo, please go back to the main page of the guide and read more carefully.
Thanks, this works on my psp e1004. Its easy and fast, highly recomended. THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN BRICK IS IF U INTERRUPTED DURING THE PROCESS
