Homebrews

If you’re craving for more homebrews, please check my new Homebrew database!

On this page you will find various Homebrew games that I decided to host here because I like them, or because I slightly modified them, or because they are difficult to find… unless specified otherwise, I wasn’t directly involved in the making of these games. For open source games I try to accurately provide links for the sources, but bear with me for inconsistencies.

If you are looking for Wagic, go to the Wagic dedicated download page

If you are interested in Homebrews to run with HBL, check this list

If you are the creator of one of these games and have a problem with me hosting your game here, or if you just want to discuss, don’t hesitate to contact me

    ummm where are they?

  2. wololo

@garrei: currently there’s only Aquaria, but the list will grow with time 🙂

    • Cz3

I’m sure you’re strapped for time, but I’d extremely appreciative if you could make posts in this section like once or month or something like that. Just any homebrews that really stuck out to you.

  3. Shoron

Did not work 4 me! Comes back to the psp menu.

  4. Sahil

    @Shoron,
You need CFW or at least ChickHEN to play Aquaria.

  5. wololo

@Shoron, as sahil said, you need 64MB of Ram to play the game. Additionally, you need to read the article entirely, to know how to create the resource files. This is not working “out of the box” because you first need to buy the game and create the needed files.

I’m surprised wololo, I done this some what with my work on cave story for psp. I must say your getting better at this. Im glad too see that you have finished working on another homebrue project other than WTH?

Im glad this seems too work, I hope there is more game’s like this that you can make?

If you dont mind I wish too make a small request, The homebrue world lacks any mistory game’s. I wonder what you can do about this. *wink wink*

I hope too see more soon keep up the work wololo – MNX

Hey wololo, I have a psp with 6.20 and model 3004.I tried the rev 93. Its superb but when ever I want 2 exit and return back to the psp menu,it shows
“please wait…" and then shuts down. Please suggest a solution. Rev 85 worked best for me but I just can’t live without the wMenu. Please Help. Also the star wars mod for wagic does not work. It hangs. I removed the exception.prx but still. Help!!!

  10. wololo

@Shoron: for the menu issue, you have 2 solutions:
either use the “exit” button from the homebrew (not the “home” button of the PSP) when it exists, or change the return_to_xmb_on_exit value in your hbl/hbl_config.txt file.
For the Star Wars Wagic Mod, this is unfortunately an old Mod and it doesn’t run on HBL. With little work you could probably copy the Resource files from this mod into Wagic 0.12, and have it work again.

Also this is not the correct page to post about HBL. If you have questions about HBL, go to the dedicated thread in the forums, thanks.

unfortunately i have installed firmware 6.3 on my psp …
i want to know that if there is a way to hack it or downgrade it to an earlier version ?
    please help me …………..

      • Sorbex

but he can downgrade it if it’s a 1000, or 2000 psp
here is the explanation (by me), works on every fimware including 6.37, 6.35, 6.31 I have already tested it on many psps

have you installed a fimware that make you sad, do you need many homebrews to run other homebrews, do you want to downgrade your psp?. the prosess is simple (only for 1000 and 2000 need pandora battery)
first you will have to download a premade magic memory stick(5.00). the package includes the ipl ingector(psp grader), copy the contents of the archive in the root of your memory stick , open the psp grader select your drive and press the “inject ipl" button. DONT use a SONY memory stick because the prosses will not work
NOW completely turn off your psp and put the pandora battery while pressing the up button, a menu should appear showing many options (ex. install 5.00m33, install 5.00 ofw etc.) select install 5.00 m33 option. dont take off the battery while it’s installing.
when it finish you will have a hacked psp 5.00m33-4 with te capacity to run homebrews, isos and csos without the hbl or other hen. go to the game menu and install the m33-6 update. NOw you can reinstall the emulators, they should work if they dont redownload them.

For a PANDORA battery: you can buy one, around 6$- 10$ or you can make one with a program or open the one that you have an cut the pin(after you transfer the data to the stick) (in you tube are many videos explaining you wich one is the pin to cut) if you use the pandora in an ofw psp the only thing you will see is a black screen, the best option is to buy a premade battery.

IF you dont understand something let me know

    hello wololo I’m from Korea.
Many korean THANK to your job thank you very much

  16. Brandon

Hi wololo nice job on the HBL, I love it, but I was wondering, with the exploit does patapon still run in the background and if so, how much ram is left?

  17. wololo

@Brandon: no, the patapon module is removed from Ram before we run homebrews, and basically we clean up the Ram as much as possible before we run the homebrews. When HBL is loaded and no homebrew is loaded, there’s around 24MB free, which is roughly what you get on a CFW too.

@wololo hello im from America and many of them thank you

  29. AggrivatedCelery

OK! Ive got a PSP go with 6.31 firmware.

I downloaded and installed HBL and it seems to run fine.

However, I can not get any homebrew to work. SNES9x keeps showing me a white screen and seemingly freezes, gbSP wants some sort of ID number, and Deadalus and Geometry wars just reset the system.

Am I missing something?? I am very new to this..

    • Sorbex

well the first thing you can try is downloading the 6.31 homebrew enabler fom psphacks.com (it’s free) using the minna nasukiri- a japanese demo-game that actually activates the 6.31pro try to run the emulators again if they doesnt work and you really want to use the emulators you will have to downgrade your psp. the prosess is simple (only for 1000 and 2000 need pandora battery)
first you will have to download a premade magic memory stick(5.00). the package includes the ipl ingector(psp grader), copy the contents of the archive in the root of your memory stick , open the psp grader select your drive and press the “inject ipl” button. well i got 6.20 and for snes9x it doesnt work with half byte loader 109 and for gbsp try getting gbsp kai and for deadalus it just might be the rom for the game because some nintendo 64 games do not work for some reason and for geometry wars try running it on winrar and after that extract to your desktop then after that try putting in games.

ask questions at the email ill make website later

  38. Spain,Tenerife

Wololo, thanks for everything, sorry for my bad english, I’m Spanish. Many people think not that the HBL isn’t important. I want to remember that the HBL is very important in our Scene, the Scene of everyone. Thanks Wololo and every people that do that this is possible.

  39. PSPtutorials

Hello everyone! Gosh, psp scene is awesome now!! Guess what! I made video tutorial on how to sign your own homebrews and play ISO’s without the hen running on youtube, so you can watch the video and learn. Since this is not a legal proccess, the video on youtube is private, so you neeed to have a youtube account. Once you sign in on youtube, click this link: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?redirected=1&add_user=cristianoronaldo3213
Click on the blue button around the middle of the page. I don’t know what the button says, but after you click it, the video on how to sign the homebrews will begin playing. I used a translator to convert this to english. I cannot read the english, that is why i don’t know what blue button says. If you cannot understand me, i’m sorry. But, trust me. It works.
