Half-Byte Loader (HBL) is an open source Homebrew Loader for the Sony PSP. It allows to play fan-made games on any PSP up to firmware 6.60 included. HBL allows to run emulators for the Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64, Sega Megadrive, NES, Super NES… and many other applications.

Previous Versions
Nothing here yet, but for history reasons you might want to have a look at previous versions of HBL that ran on other exploits: the Patapon2 Demo, the hot shots golf games, and the Minna no Sukkiri Demo.
How to use
Unzip the archive at the root of your psp and run from the XMB. Check the README file of the archive for more info

HBL is a work in progress and sometimes it might fail to load your favorite homebrew. However we believe it is harmless for your PSP and I personally test my work on several PSPs before releasing it. We are also confident that this program cannot “brick” your psp and it will not void your Sony Warranty.
HBL is open source, the compiled versions I provide are a compiled version of the sources available freely here

HBL>Lover most likely not .. if you have a look to the old hbl none of them run filer6.x zou should try lower ver. but not all options does work 100%

Do Go!Tube work with this (My psp: 3004 firmware 6.60)

eva if it doesn´t work you can use a signed ver. of open tube to download videos from youtube. ^^i signed a ver. of go!tube 1.2 which does play videos but for me wifi doesn´t work. Note signed eboots doesn´t work with hbl

Can someone please tell me some good emulators that work with this version of hbl for 6.60 ofw? I have picodrive, vice for c64 and a nes emu running fine but the snes, mastersystem and gameboy emus that I had running before I stupidly updated my psp dont work now. Also if there is any ps1 emu available or does that require a homebrew? Thanks.

pues tambien puedes hackear o piratear tu psp yo tambien tengo la version 6.60 y yo ya la hackie solamente pones en google descargar 6.60 pro-b9 y lo descomprimes pasas la carpeta a la raiz de tu psp y luego en el menu juego de tu psp ejecutas el pro upate y para que se te bean los juegos q metiste tienes q crear una carpeta ISO EN LA RAIZ y listo nota la carpeta iso debe estar en mayuscula

I have a psp 3001 on 6.60 firmware and hbl is working great but I can’t get prometheus to work but picodrive work fine .I wondered if there will be a hen for 6.60 because the lowest hen is 6.39 and I don’t know how to downgrade my psp.I don’t know if my psp is compatable with a pandora battery for the downgrade.

I have psp 3001 firmware 6.60, but when ii go to the HBL it wont load all the way to the menu. It would only Show the things where it has those words in RED and thats it… Do ii have to wait longer or what?

hbl isn´t updated since kernel hen release. .. lower fw hbl are better -

pues si estas cansado mejor hackeala o pirateala como tu le quiieras llamar solamente en google le pones descargar 6.60 pro-b9 descomprimes el archivo pasas la carpeta a la raiz de tu psp despues creas una carpeta llamada iso en mayuscula ai guargas los juegos iso o cso despues bas al menu juegos de tu psp y ejecutasel pro upate y te ban a apreser los juegos q petiste a y otra cosa si se te cicla y apaga el psp siges los mismos pasos de ejecutar el pro upate y listo

for isos, it’s usually as simple as creating an “ISO2 folder on your memory stick and putting them there. If you have specific questions about specific games, I can’t help you much and you’d rather use the help forums

Hi mr wololo i have a psp3000 vers.6.50 i have already install evrything,it works..but sometimes it can’t load a iso-game..what can be the problem?must i “update” my “hbl”..some plugins for example..

Hbl does not run isos, you must be talking of something else.
