Wagic - Game Crash at Startup

hey guys?

my game crashes sometimes in the middle of the game and sometimes when im browsing cards in the shop i dont know why this is happening? do you think maybe it has something to do with the expansions i put in my game?because i have a lot of expansions and the card database is already at 4168 and im not sure if its because of that or something else also some cards i have are showing the pics and sometime its not showing the pics?is it because it has the same code as of some of the expansions?sorry for the questions really a noob here please help?

Its probably due to the expansions. Anything not official is prone to crash the game more than it being anything else. Disabling the menu music can also help crashes but yours is more than likely due to adding unofficial sets.

As to my last comment, it seems that in order for me to eve play, I have to copy the whole directory from the .rar file (RealMagic mod). I'm sure this isn't a problem with the mod as I used .7 just fine. I consistently crash at either one or two sets. Which set it is changes each time I write over the old folder. Last time it was stopping at Conflux and Arabian Nights (ARB right?). Now it's stopping on Odyssey and Portal. I have no idea why this happens or why I'm able to play only when I write over the folder. I've tried replacing the set directory, that didn't work. I tried opening up the .zip file of the cards in the set that it's stopping on and that didn't work. I'm fresh out of ideas on how to fix this. Another annoying thing is that I have to re-do all of my set achievements, evil twin style and difficulty each time I write over the folder (I copy out my player folder but I don't know what else to copy out for that info). Now it's just become frustrating.

Does it freeze on a fresh install directly without adding anything to the set I released. Meaning no extra sets, no overwriting your collection data, etc. ?

No, on a fresh install it goes by fine until I restart the psp, then the same problem happens again. I don't use any extra sets, just the pack that you release. (This is my last look at the boards till after labor day)

To be honest, if you dont change anything or add anything from the pack then I dont see what would be causing the game lockup.

What psp version are you using?
Did you try reformatting your memory stick?

Hi guys,

Hope someone can help me...the game is still crashing when the sets are being loaded...I tried all the fixes mentioned in first page but to no avail..the game is working though in my pc

btw, I am using a fresh install of the real magic magic mod...thanks

Sorry about not getting back to this earlier. Things have been busy with school and whatnot.

I'm using M33 version 5 and no, I haven't tried formatting my memory stick. I don't see how that could fix the problem. I've also tried removing the music files and using a different game folder (such as game150) to no avail. The only thing I haven't tried is completely removing the image files and seeing if that works. If anything, I'll just wait until version 9 comes out and see if i'm able to play on that.

FYI.

According to my testing you need to have a certain amount of free space on your memory card in order for wagic to run correctly. I am not able to run wagic with less than aprox. 300MB free space on my memory card (also aprox 10% of the total memory)...

Also junk file in the WTH folder (such as thumb.db or other system created files) are causing it to crash at start-up

Using irfree and setting the PSP to 333 MHZ seems to help a lot...


PS: And DO NOT in any circonstancies... wear a BLUE SHIRT... wearing a blue shirt is making my WTH crashing almost 75% more often than usual...
