Just a little fun bit of stat-tracking

Postby timmermac » Sun Jun 05, 2011 10:23 pm

I'm a big fan of stat tracking, so I'm going to periodically post on how the deck I'm playing with is performing. At the moment, the deck I'm working with right now is 44-126, with a loss to the Yavimaya deck. The opponents I'm performing best against are Nightmare at 7-3 with a 5 game winning streak, and Inquisitor at 7-10 with a 2 game losing streak. My two worst opponents are Howlings at 0-10 and Wrath at 1-11 with a new losing streak started with my last game. My deck is 5-color monstrosity with 279 cards, about 45% of which is land. I eventually plan on turning it into a Sliver deck as I unlock the expansions that have them available. In the meantime, I'm working on getting landwalking tribal creatures, like goblins, elves, merfolk and zombies. I'm also trying to pick up fatties to support the wee hordes.

Resurrecting this with the new version. I am currently 5-32 with my 5-color deck. I've lost my last 12 in a row. I'm kind of wondering if it's possible to put together a deck capable of not sucking with just the 5th edition card pool available at the start. Nightmare has completely owned me, as I've lost all 8 times I've played against it.

I'm having a hard time creating a good 5ED deck too. IT used to be easier with 10E, but Wagic unlocks by default the set with the most cards...5ED seems like it will be the default for a long time :)

I made a new deck. It's got slivers, fatties and discard. It's currently 14-43. Alliance, Yavimaya and Wrath are giving it problems, as my deck's a combined 0-5, 1-5 and 1-5 against those three decks. It's owned Nightmare so far, winning all three of its games against that deck.

Playing with a similar deck as the last post, except without the discard, with the beta of version 18. Currently 16-42. Plateau is the bane of my existence with me going 1-9 against it. Savannah is the only deck that I've managed to stay at .500 with, at a 2-2 record.

New version (18.6), new start. I'm 120 games in to my first 162-game season - I break it up into baseball-season sized chunks - and I've got a record of 39-81 so far. My longest winning streak is at 3 games, and my longest losing streak is at 10 games. My deck is creeping up on 6000 cards, as I pretty much ignore the 4-of limitation in my desire to increase the chances of getting certain cards out. I usually try to get 20-30 copies of most cards in my deck, or until the credit cost of an individual card becomes prohibitive. I do kind of cheat and edit the data.dat file any time my credit balance gets too low. I've found the maximum to be around 2 billion credits.

Yup, that would be the maximum signed integer value on a 32 bits system: 2147483647
