SVN and Android

Postby Daemonfey » Mon Mar 19, 2012 10:33 am

I have had a lot of problems getting my Android to run the game with the latest SVN/core pack at release 0.18 and 0.18.1. I've tried different methods, but I can only get it to work for 17.1.

I've tried

a) Just put the core pack there

It doesn't recognize, and stays 17.1

b) Extract the pack files to the folder

It doesn't change version from 17.1 or, in the case of 18.1, Wagic fails to start at all

c) Compile it for Windows use, copy all the files on Res and overwrite those on the Android

It works for 17.1 but Wagic fails to start with either 18.1 and 18.0

I feel like I'm doing something terrible wrong - the most glaring would be me still using the 17.1 apk. I've tried to find something about how to compile or download a more recent apk, but so far I can only find the cores at http://code.google.com/p/wagic/downloads/list.

Any suggestions on how to keep Wagic for Android up to date with the SVN while avoiding issues?

depends on what you are using to install the apk....if you use astro it will overwrite the previous app...if you use something else you need to do "un-install" first...then install the new apk...

I'm not using Astro, but I'm using Astro-like (File Manager). Will try to delete it before.

Anyway, I'm still using the 17.1 Apk. There is no 18 or 18.1 apk?

Folks, the only released APK is for 0.171. Anything for 0.180+ is for "cutting-edge" stuff. so none of that stuff is guaranteed to work on 0.17 builds unfortunately. the next release is around the corner. Not sure of exactly when, but I'd say in the next few weeks we will have something. Please be patient for Android builds as we want to make sure the binaries for that platform is stable before the general public gets a hold of it. You are welcome to make your own builds but we can not guarantee that they will work until we do a public release as development is always happening. Thus, the state of the binary will change daily.

Thanks for understanding,
