I've Downloaded the program TortoiseSVN, 32bit versions of the other does not work on my computer.

Please read the tortoiseSVN manual on how to use tortoiseSVN.

It is a wiki to compile the sources (which you don't need), but the first steps explain how to use tortoiseSVN.

You don't need a browser to use tortoiseSVN, it's completely unrelated.

When you do "SVN Update", Tortoise SVN will merge any changes you do locally with new updates from the SVN, most of the times it works smoothly without you having to think about it
