You reached this page because you want to install a Custom Firmware on your PSP3000, PSPGo, or a PSP2000 with a UNhackable motherboard (ta88v3), and you currently have a firmware 6.37, 6.38, or 6.39 installed on your PSP. If you’re not sure of that anymore (psp 2000 owners, there is a chance your motherboard could be hackable), or if you want to check again, or if you have a different PSP model, please go back to the main page of this guide.
If you have a Firmware 6.37 or above, you need to downgrade your PSP before you can install a Hen on it. The current downgrade solutions do not really let you a choice to where you downgrade to, but this might change in the future. For now, in most cases you will downgrade to OFW 6.20 (which allows you to go back to 6.35 afterwards if you want to), but if you have a PSP 3000 with a 7g/9g motherboard, you will have to go to OFW 6.35.
7g/9g motherboards don’t support OFW 6.20 due to some driver limitations.
- If you have a PSP 3000 with a 7g/9g motherboard, go to this page to downgrade your PSP to Firmware 6.35.
- If you have any other PSP model, go to this page to downgrade your PSP to Firmware 6.20
- If you have a PSP 3000 but are not sure about your motherboard type, try first to downgrade to 6.20, and if it doesn’t work, try instead to downgrade to 6.35
You should now be on Firmware 6.35 or 6.20. Go back to the Firmware selection page to see the next step (installing a Hen).
well how do the hackers do to create hacks and stuff because i wanna create one
Hackers find a Kernel Exploit within the PSP’s Official Firmware, a flaw in the PSP Kernel that allows Kernel Access. Then they build upon that Exploit. As for the actual LCFW/HEN itself… If you know nothing about programming, don’t even think about it.
It requires a lot of coding knowledge, TN’s HEN took 2-3 months to complete and he’s a skilled programmer.
What kind of code do you need to know, and how do write the code? Do you use a text editor or a certain program?

yes, there is no way to know it unless you buy the actual unit and see for yourself.
Last February I bought a psp3001 from japan that has a ver. 6.20.
the 6.37 was released January 2011.

If it says that it can’t run on fat, then it probably means that it does not run on the PSP fat, which is the PSP 1000.

there is another way to play isos on your pspgo with 6.37
.Download UMD GEN
.Download iso2eboot
.Create a new folder on your desktop
.Drop your iso2eboot in there
.Place a iso inside the folder with iso2eboot
>click iso2ebooot then it should say patching please wait
.After it is done patching you Should get a folder called PSP click it another folder should be there called game.
Once you have the folder game u should see the file with an eboot.
finally plug your pspgo or 3000 but make sure your iso is smaller than 728mb or it wont work.
After its connected go to your psp folder click game.
Tricky part here after u open game on YOUR PSP OPEN BACK UP THE FILE WITH YOUR EBOOT DRAG THAT FILE TO GAME ON YOUR PSP THEN DISCONNECT YOUR PSP AFTER IT TRANSFERS GO TO YOUR SAVE GAME DATA OR WHERE YOUR GAMES ARE ON YOUR MEMORY STICK YOUR GAME SHOULD BE THERE YOUR GOING TO GET A BLACK SCREEN WITH CHINESE WORDS AND 10 SECS LATER YOUR GAME SHOULD LOAD

If you say that you have a black screen forever, you probably bricked your console. All you can do now is send it off to Sony to fix it, or keep it and have a nice paperweight.

just pick one of the emulators and put it on your game list and download some roms

Seeing all your restrictions, limitations and concerns, I can advice to you to… buy the games you’re interested in.
Restrictions ?? I have a PSP and know a lot about software , but the problem is that I cannot find anywhere a good instruction about how to hack this PSP. I don’t want to brick it bij half-done CFW; it has to be good in one go . I have bought some games , but still want to something with Homebrew, at least because I don’t like to exchange the UMD every time I want to play something else.

If you know a lot about software, you should know that the best option is LCFW PRO 6.39. I think there is a version to 6.37. It’s compatible with a lot homebrew. My recommendation is to not use a permanent patch. You simply need to download the package (available anywhere) and run in your console (I believe it’s signed). So it’s child’s play…

You need to get ready with your UMD. Then, install a custom firmware (PRO or ME for 6.37). Then, install a homebrew capable to rip your UMD (PSPFiler or ISO Tools will do the work). Run ISO Tools (or any other) to rip your UMD and you’re done.

There’s nothing you can do. You shouldn’t have upgraded, who tell you that? Probably there is a downgrader coming up, but until then, you should play your legal PSN games.

Ok I have a PSP 1000 with 6.39 and have just use TN hen before I upgraded to play the FF Type-0 demo. What’s the EASIEST option for getting homebrew back for me now? Is there a way other then the above mentioned as that only talks about 3000’s and Go’s?

The downgrader just says curruptted data, I made sure it was in the GAME folder so I do not know what I should do.
silverdude first update to 6.39 or 6.60 firmware. than run a hen and than may downgrade. note: downgrade is a risk special 09g owner have problems to upgrade after downgrade. may 1st run pspeverest or pspident befor downgrade.
