While I was reading IGN this morning I read a very interesting article on cross-play. Personally, I think cross-play between different consoles could be a major feature for future gaming but it seems other companies have other ideas to make this happen much earlier.
A lucky few in Europe already had a chance to buy Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate from the PlayStation Network Store early. The rest of PS Vita audience has to wait until the game is released on October 25th. Developer Armature Studios shared new footage of gameplay for the Metroidvania style Batman Arkham Origins game.
So I thought I’ll do what I did last month where I let you all know what games are coming out this month. Highlights of this month include Batman Origins, Beyond: Two Souls and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker.

It has been a long while since I last wrote an article for you guys, i may be a bit rusty so be easy Glad to be back though, and I will be writing more as the new job I have allows me to sit at my desk with a lot of free time!(hehehe) So here it is my first article in Months!
The console wars, a title that originally appeared in the early 90′s due to Nintendo and Sega releasing comparable consoles. previous generations had competition, but when the Clinton era hit, all bets were off! I remember having a Super Nintendo and thinking it couldn’t get much better, my friend Chad however, had a Sega genesis. We fought like cats and dogs over which was the superior console and would never relent. I remember that now mainly because I see a larger version of our fights everywhere I look on the internet.
Physics! Uhn! What is it good for? Absolutely . . . er, quite a lot, actually.
Physics in games is one of those strange things that you don’t notice until it stops working right. Example: in older games, where physics processing was not a big deal, no matter how an enemy was shot, he fell with the same pre-canned animation. This is actually more realistic than modern games; people do not fly backwards when shot like in the movies. But the point is, the animation was not dynamic, resulting in a death animation that did not look right.
So people, there you have it, the 3DS’s main feature (the glasses-less 3d) has turned out to have been Sony’s work which Nintendo stole.
The Playstation Vita was out more than a year ago worldwide, and we have yet to see a native hack publicly released. I can see several reasons for that and will try to describe them here.
I am a HUGE JRPG fan, I love a lot of those niche series that a lot of other Americans do not seem to enjoy. The (US) gaming industy seems to be ignoring a lot of quality titles lately. Does it have to do with stereotypes? laziness? Money? Let’s see if we can’t draw some more insight.

Recently we’ve been hearing a lot of rumors about new consoles being released: a new Xbox, a new Playstation, a Valve console, but none of them have been confirmed yet.
Still, we can outline how the gaming industry will look like in a few years.
Doom3 Open Sourced
Yesterday ID Software released the source code of Doom3 under the GPL License. Those of you who feel that the Vita would love to run a port of Doom3 should start digging in the thousands of lines of code of this beast even before the vita is out. “Sadly”, it’s C++, so don’t expect to port it smoothly to the Playstation Suite

Christmas is coming and our PSPs are not getting any younger… Sony’s coming up with the PS Vita, but is also trying to get rid of their old stocks of PSP hardware with the cheap PSP Street. the 3DS got a nice price cut earlier this year, tablets and smartphones offer an acceptable performance for gaming nowadays… offers in the portable world have exploded since I first got interest into it back in 2006.
So I’m wondering, do you guys have any plan to buy a new portable device in the months to come? What will it be, and why? You can answer in the poll I created on /talk (or in the comments here for the laziest, but the poll will give us some nice statistics to talk about )
