The Persona series is one of the most successful console RPG franchises that ever existed and it has entries over a whole slew of consoles. A couple of years ago in 2014, the series saw its foray into the Nintendo 3DS with the crossover Persona Q. For a while, the successor to this game was in the works and now, stuff to hype us all up is being published!
Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth Trailer and PV trailer released
Female MC art from the PV trailer!
Two days ago, ATLUS released the first trailer for the game in Japanese. Like Persona Q, this game is also a crossover with chibi characters but this time, it features 28 characters from Persona 3,4 and 5 such as Teddie. Apart from the first trailer, we were also given a PV trailer which shows even more gameplay and characters, such as Chie, Yukiko and Junpei.
Furthermore, it seems that the female protagonist from Persona 3 Portable (Kotone Shiomi) will also be featuring in this game which will surely make many of us smile!
When will it be available?
Persona Q2 boxart from Amazon Japan
Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth will be available on the 29th of November 2018 in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS. Unfortunately, the date for an English release hasn’t been stated yet but if it follows Persona Q’s pattern, a localisation should be available in roughly 6 months’ time.
As of right now, it hasn’t been stated whether this game’ll be available for other consoles but if it follows its predecessor’s tracks, it won’t. That means that if you wish to play this game and don’t have a 2/3DS, you’ll have to shell out out some money for a console that’s over 7 years old. On the bright side, you can go grab yourself a Nintendo 2DS for small sums of money if you look on the local market!
If you’re a Persona die-hard and understand Japanese well enough, you can go ahead and pre-order the game for 7538¥ (around €60) from Amazon. Apparently, if you buy a first-print copy of the game you’ll also get 9 downloadable background music tracks from P3-5 according to Persona Central!
On the other hand, if you can’t understand Japanese, you can enjoy the unofficially translated trailers below (courtesy of YouTube channel 『 Lettuce Sauce 』)
