Nintendo Switch: preorders allegedly starting for Team Xecuter’s hacking device
I received an email this morning from an online retailer in China, specializing in hardware mods for console. The kind of site where you’ll find Gateway 3DS, Cobra dongles, etc…
The email states that this specific shop will be accepting preorders soon for Team Xecuter‘s upcoming hacking device for the Nintendo Switch. Team Xecuter have stated this device will be compatible with all firmwares of the Nintendo Switch (although it is assumed a hardware revision of the SoC would void that claim).
Specifically, the retailer states:
We will be soon taking preorders for the new Nintendo Switch line of revolutionary products by Team Xecuter. The products are not online on our shop yet, but we are exceptionally accepting offline preorders as we expect that the demand will largely exceed the available stocks. Regular customers can reserve stocks from us, no deposit required. This is limited to past customers only!
I am not mentioning the retailer’s name, or pointing you to their site, for multiple reasons:
First of all, I firmly believe that a free, software hacking solution will always be superior to a hacking dongle sold for profit. And since Fail0verflow and Reswitched have both demonstrated they have access to a hack similar to what Xecuter have in stock (here and here), there are good reasons to hope a software hack will ultimately be released to the Nintendo Switch scene. In that context, I would certainly not recommend to rush on a preorder for a device that has not been reviewed yet, and might end up being useless before even being released.
Secondly, although that retailer claims they are an official distributor, they are not on Team-Xecuter’s website’s list of resellers. It could be that Xecuter’s website is not up to date, but who knows. (Don’t get me wrong, I have no specific reason to believe that site is scamming anyone, but again I see no good reason for anyone to buy Team Xecuter’s device now, when it’s not even released.)
Assuming the claim is legit though, this gives us an indication that the device is getting close to a release date (however Team Xecuter have not made any recent statement regarding this). Whether we are against such devices, or just indifferent to them, there’s still excitement in the air, as the scene wants to know what hackers have up their sleeves for the Nintendo Switch.
Wololo, being the reasonable guy since 2008.
Thanks for the news! Excitement is in the air, indeed.
hope you meant “Wololo being the absolutely ignorant in hacking since 2008”.

Hardware solutions could actually get cfw to the masses faster, since they have a real motivation to share it instead of just showing off. Maybe we should start supporting hardware modchips, and stop letting free software undermine it. People like to point out that unpaid coders don’t owe you an actual release or timeline. True. Maybe that’s why this stuff gets sat on for years. Then they sabotage when someone finally offers a timely way to get/buy it. Plus, I think a good enough modchip could hide everything physically seperate from the console’s storage, unlike soft mods. Maybe it’s time we start supporting paid hardware mods over free ones, to make sure they don’t just get sat on for years. Let’s not sabotage a faster path, right?
First
Not really.

Dogs in the manger. They would rather release free hack just to prevent sb from earning money. Why this whole hack scene became such cancer? “HELLO WORLD, LOOK HERE WE HAVE WORKING HACK HEHE – BUT FORGET ABOUT GETTING IT, WE WILL KEEP IT FOR US HEHE” >>> “OH NO, SOMEBODY IS GOING TO RELEASE PAID HACK? WE CAN’T LET THAT HAPPEN”
This scene is full of egomaniac that have begun to inflate their ego since Wii. With 3DS they began to feel like hacking Gods and now a point of no return has been reached.

Great news.
Playing the waiting game is better, I find it more fun to hack a console following a guide than using a dongle.
*going back to VITA, playing good old Quake III*
Translation: I do not want to pay.
A guide is like a puzzle that you have to solve! A plug-and-play dongle is boring.
A guide is a guide, not a puzzle
I agree with this, but I don’t think I have ever had a guide for CFW that went perfectly. Usually there is some vague description, or omitted detail that was assumed common sense that really wasn’t that keeps me at it until 3 in the morning before it goes well.
A guide is a guide, but the process can still be a bit puzzling at times.
Precisely, a puzzle. And when the console is fully accessible, I barely play it 🙂
Injecting CFW in the 360 DVD player, food hack of wii and 3DS, cemetiero on PSP, , looking daily on wololo for news on the VITA scene…chills. Seriously, it’s not even about games anymore, but achievements !
This guy gets it.
It is sad that there is such a bias against team executor on this site, when this place exists to generate ad money for one developer that had some exploits for the vita.
However you can endorse how many hardware based card readers for the vita, which could have been replaced by a network share app instead of causing Sony to lose money on their memory cards?
Yet you want free software to swoop in and block team executor from releasing a product and making money, that is no different than a memory card reader that reads SD cards instead of Sony’s?
This is a dumb argument but this site is going down hill… Maybe this should be a private FB group and not a public website…
It’s sad when this site is full of every genre of ads. No wait… It’s hypocritical.
A network share app on a portable console? Are you ***?
Maybe they don’t like the Sony card because:
-They are very expensive – https://puu.sh/zVtCv/29d928cb8b.png
-MicroSD cards are much more affordable – https://puu.sh/zVtFf/33caa53152.png
And to be totally honest, I’d like to see the Switch scene evolve more before I touched it (If i had a Switch).
Man, there’s a lot of backlash here.
It’s just one sad kid, he trolls the forums cause he’s sad Nintendo can’t secure their device and removes basic features he’ll never have.
Lol, I’m gonna get free games without paying for a piracy device this summer anyway thanks to Atmosphere CFW. Thanks Nintendo and Nvidia for garbage security. Can’t wait for free games, save backups (which Nintendo is too braindead to add), and emulation!! Woohoo!
lol Sony kids must be desperate to do console war with piracy. Don’t worry you will have your The Lat of SWJ part 2 anyway.
Desperate? Says the kid trolling around these forums cause Nintendo has bad security.
Does Fail0verflow and Reswitched has said something about FW 5.0.0? Cuz at least Team Xecuter has said that this FW wont be a problem to their solution.
Atmosphere and Fuse Gelee is reported to be compatible with all firmware
drwaka: tx haa become arrogant and overpromising lately. thats all.
have they even showed off a picture of this thing or what it will be capable of? because it would have to be pretty special for me to even begin to be interested, if this thing doesn’t have a way to independently dump and restore the nand for example or it doesn’t cost like £20 then i don’t give a *** and they can keep it and i will go with cfw
A Hardware SOC update wouldn’t fix the exploits claim to work on all firmware revisions. because IT WILL work on all future revisions, on those consoles it already works on.
Idiot. TX works because a bug in the bootrom that WILL be fixed in a new hardware revision.
Paid hacks seem like the only thing that spurs actual release now. We should support that, since most hackers just horde and brag now. Any group who sabotages paid hacks is only crippling the scene.
It’s true that hackers don’t have to release anything, but people don’t have to be impressed by unshared hacks either. Why should we care about unshared accomplishments and bragging?
Hacks get sat on for so ridiculously long now (years), that people are eager to support a faster reveal, and paid mods provide that ability.
I agree, let’s just be honest about the situation.
Plus, modchips don’t have to edit files on the console, unlike soft mods. They just hijack the hardware path. That seems like it could theoretically allow completely untraceable backup playing and hacks if done right. Especially if the hardware glitch is unpatchable so you can update freely on compatible hardware versions.
While chip is on: Force offline, disable history. Restrict games and saves to external drive the console can’t read without the chip turned on. (Connect the drive to the chip itself, or encrypt the drive to the chip’s unique programmable key.) Store nothing on the actual console itself.
While chip is off: Standard unmodded play with (hopefully) no trace of mods or anything played while the chip was on.
expecting a software solution to make their product extinct prior production , cause it is a solution as it seems to profit in a short term time while there is a whole bootloader bugs gallery
Its not Team Xecuter at all bar the same URL being used the original Team X broke up long ago and the URL & Forum was sold to Max Louarn
I wouldn’t trust Max with a light year long barge pole as he has a long history of lying over releases and products abilities
Btw there is a free release being held back to scupper this Louarn venture when it’s released.
Max’s device will also be incredibly easy to clone so just wait and you will have access to either a free soft mod or a cheap chinese 5 bucks copy
I love TX and they contributed tons to the 360 scene. But their Switch solution will be available as a softmod soon enough. From their CFW video they might be the first to provide a backup loader and everyone wants piracy like now so I’m sure plenty out there will buy one instead of waiting for a dev to provide this for free. That’s if Scires and team aren’t already providing it with Atmosphere CFW. I’m just going to wait it out. With how fast they’re pushing *** to the github I don’t think it will be too much longer. I’m still sitting on 1.0 waiting patiently.
The 3ds scene got really interesting once CFW was possible. And remember when A9LH was released? Epic. And that took years. Imagine that on the most powerful handheld console just over a year into its life. SoonTM
