Plugin modification by SonryP lets you use your SD2Vita (game card) adapter as external storage!
The day when the microSD (SD2Vita) adapters will land is getting closer and some people have already modified the driver plugin. SonryP, who developed VitaMote, modified the driver/plugin to let you use both the microSD adapter and your Vita memory card at the same time!
What’s this plugin modification?
This plugin modification is based upon xyz‘s plugin (presumably with motoharu‘s software patches as per the original PoC video) and it allows you to use both the Vita memory card and a microSD card at the same time.
The modification is meant to work with the PSVita game card to microSD adapter (SD2Vita) and it obviously makes it more useful for most of us. Thanks to this modification, you don’t have to ‘waste’ your original Vita memory card since you can use both storage media at the same time. The original Vita memory card will still be mounted as “ux0:” while the microSD will be mounted as “uma0:” (same partition as USB storage on the PSTV via VitaShell – plugin may explode your home if you use it on a PSTV with USB storage).
If you have a smaller microSD card than your Vita memory card, this plugin modification will be very useful as it will let you use your smaller card as extra storage rather than as main storage.
How do I get it?
To get the plugin mod, all you need to is to download it from the link below and install it to the KERNEL section of taiHEN’s “config.txt”. Obviously, you need an SD2Vita adapter so unless you built one yourself, you have to wait a little while.
That being said, the ETAs of the adapters we were promised are getting closer so stay tuned! 🙂
