This Nintendo Switch docking station is 75% smaller than the original.
It has been way to long since I’ve posted an article on Wololo. Ideally you’ve all been well and are ready for a new batch of content from my hand. To start things off I thought it would be best to offer you something that is close to the core of what Wololo is about: control over your devices.
Making the Nintendo Switch docking station slim
On March third, two weeks ago at the time of publishing, Nintendo released their new portable home console the Nintendo Switch. However it seems that not everyone with a Switch is using their time with the system just to play games. It took a reddit’er named Jolimon just a few days to produce a Nintendo Switch hardware modification. His goal was simple: create a dock that would take up less space for portability sake. In short he used the electronics from the original dock and housed them in smaller custom build dock/sleeve. The result is a 75% smaller travel ready dongle that retains the same pass through functionality as the original Nintendo Switch docking station.
People are enamored enough with the idea of a smaller docking station that they are asking the creator to build them their own. Jolimon is looking into these requests and is currently making plans for assembly and distribution. He has also voiced his plans on publishing a tutorial video so that people can reproduce his creation.
While researching Nintendo Switch hardware modifications I also found some other efforts that where laughable at best. Chuckle if you must, at least these guys made an attempt to create something and were daring enough to maim their Nintendo Switch accessories. At the very least they showed me what not to do to my new game console.
