StarKiller2D – PS Vita Release (GekiHEN contest entry)
Developer Freakler has released a game for the GekiHEN contest a few days ago, named StarKiller2D.
StarKiller2D is a simple 2D puzzle. I for one am glad that we are seeing a few original entries like this one in the contest. We all love ports and emulators of course, but original homebrew can ultimately be what makes you fondly remember a console!
You still have until the end of the month to submit your entries for the GekiHEN contest. Head over to the official site for more details. Wololo.net is a sponsor of that contest and there’s a total of $850 in cash prizes for the best homebrews.
From the author:
This is a basic & minimalistic 2D puzzle game using vita2Dlib by xerpi and my contribution to this contest! The game isn’t meant to look pretty with a lot of fancy graphics but further stay in a somewhat “text-based-adventure-way”. This release has 54 Levels currently and there also is a level editor for even more fun.
Big thanks to everyone in the scene for making homebrew finally possible and of course special thanks to gdljjrod, Largeroliker, Red Squirrel, Nzaki & Tuxbot for their translations!
Now go and have some fun! (And yes, all levels are winnable!^^)

Glad to see original games like this one for the contest 😀
Just played through 30 levels, it is very well made with nice sharp graphics and good sound effects for a game. the only thing missing is background music, but overall a good game! I would probably vote this as the best game for gekihen.
