QCMA updated to v0.4.0, tons of bug fixes!
As many of you know, Sony has just recently pulled the switch on the 3.60 keys that taiHENkaku/HENkaku were using to access PSN and online features in general, which means that by the same token, the built-in Content Manager you use to copy data to and from your Vita also stops working with the official PC tool. However, developer codestation has returned to the scene with a somewhat major update to his homebrew Content Manager for the PS Vita to version 0.4.0.
This latest update fixes a number of issues that QCMA had since 0.3.x, such as not having automatic database refresh forcing you to do so manually every time you added new files to the local folders on your PC.
What is QCMA?
Qcma is a cross-platform application to provide a Open Source implementation of the original Content Manager Assistant that comes with the PS Vita. QCMA is meant to be compatible with Linux, Windows and MAC OS X.
Yeah. The official Content Manager Assistant kinda sucks, and we, the PS Vita users, prefer to use alternatives. QCMA, in particular, runs on Linux, which the official Sony client does not. It’s also much more flexible and does not require your machine to talk to Sony’s servers while using the client. Useful if you don’t want to update your console.
Changelog for QCMA 0.4.0
- Allow driver selection in components page.
- Make ffmpeg optional for macOS builds.
- Removed system tray plugins.
- Added button to save current listing to json.
- Inject version info into embedded xml and ignore local xml file by default.
- Added check for 3.60 update pup.
- Fix folder open button in backup manager.
- Implement automatic database refresh.

Yep (^-^) , but at least post a good first educated comment.
I’m still waiting for Wololo to make me a mod so I can ban anyone that posts “First” posts.
Complete morons and all they are doing is wasting forum space making it unnecessary bigger.
If they had any intelligence they would post something helpful or even a “thanks” is better than “first”
“first” makes you look like a complete ***, a troll, a kid without schooling, an idiot. Someone that wont grow up to be anything in life. a loser.
Saying “First” is Wololo tradition.
This comment was pretty useless as is the one I’m writing. You make it much longer.
I just fristed on your face with my *** <3
so where are the “lots of new features added” really?
just seems like a bug fix update to me…
i was hoping for the music bug fix. its horrible. you can only add music each song at a time instead of folders loL. but thx for caring anyway

It bugged a lot my winXp (just dont ask..) So glad for this update. +karma to codestation
I just used the FTP to transfer mp3 files to my vita memory. I thought the files would be safe, but they were not. After about two weeks since then, I found out that some of the mp3 files just got deleted on its own. Does anyone has any clue how the files got deleted on its own? I don’t expect I will be able to restore them, but I’d like to know how to prevent an automatic deletion. Do I need to transfer files through QCMA to have the files stay safely in the vita memory?
wankstaaaaaaa
after the update I have problem accessing video and music files over WiFi. I get first msg “The PC has been disconnected.” After that I try again and get my PC listed, but “There are no videos(music).” And after some time of trying I get to the point that QCMA tray shows “device has been disconnected” and I get msg on my wita “could not connect to network.”
My settings are :
Offline mode, Skip metadata extraction, Automatic database refresh, Ignore local file psp2…, CMA protocol Manual, CMA pro. ver. FW 3.30, Use this version for updates FW 3.60(HENkaku)
On Vita Flight mode, beta Henkaku with VitaShell1.42
I’ve been waiting for the auto database refresh. Hope it works good.
i wish they build in wifi QCMA still the same -_-
