Huh, since you linked the PCSX link:

I thought when you were running a PS1 game on the Vita that you bought on the PSN, that it ran in a native emulator. Are PS1 games actually running inside the PSP emulator?

If not, is there hope in the future via taiHENkaku to get access to the native PS1 emulator?

    • Typhoon_Neon

There is no native emulator, it’s always been the terrible upscaled and pixelated PSPemu running the entire time. Unless TheFloW can actually get the PSPemu to run at the Vita’s resolution (like I do with PPSSPP on my PC where I run it at 5x PSP resolution) but that’s not likely to happen. So PCSX-R is our only hope for good quality looking PS1 games.

      • stevega94

so, everytime i’ll use the adrenaline, should I need an internet connection right? There’s no “betahenkaku offline installer”?

      • bobrocks95

Huh, seems pretty lazy of Sony to not bother to port their PS1 emulator. I thought it added options like button remapping though? Was that just done by using the same sort of trickery the other Adrenaline post was talking about, with communicating with the Vita OS?

      • Tail870

Actually, PPSSPP is also scaling resolution…

      • sloppycrap

PSPEMU *is* the “native emulator”. On the Vita, which is what we’re talking about. Or is there some other emulation layer for PS1 games that actually plays the game when you launch a PSN PSOne Classic from LiveArea?

    This is Amazing!!!

For anyone having issues with the 6.61 firmware install part, make sure the extention is in caps and there isnt a period in 6.61 (so it should just be 661.pdb or whatever the extension is)

Exams? Who can teach you?! You are already god.

  6. lunacryd

I managed to run the ISO game by Metal Gear Ops + as a host based game. But a new problem occur.. Upon long play of ISO game I run Tekken. Hiccup sudden pop up of error c1-2858-3 and exist the game.

    • delta191

I’ve tried burnout legends and killzone liberation, both let you play for 10 mins approx, then black screen and same c1-2858-3 error. seems buggy to me, it’s pointless if games are going to bomb out all the time.

  8. Lloyd

    Nice one!

  9. streetbrawler

hmmm after installin 661.pbp and it gives me a blackscreen and error code C1-2858-3 -_-

  16. Allyjaan

Guys I have a problem, I cannot find the pspemu folder, I cannot create a new one either…what to do?

    • Allyjaan

i get this 550 error renaming the file

    • pcmantinker

You need to enable unsafe homebrews and to be sure to install the latest Vita Shell (1.42 as of writing) either by updating or installing the VPK. For some reason, Molecular Shell doesn’t want to show all folders. After running Vita Shell 1.42, you should be able to access your pspemu folder.

  17. Quade321

Well, that’s absolutely awesome. Time to break the bank and grab a 64GB Vita memory stick for my hacked Vita. Thank you, TheFlow, you’re amazing. 🙂

  18. shira

    cannot find ux0:pspemu/adrenaline/661.pbp
    what to do?

  19. RustyWindow

I didn’t understand how to install, so this guy helped me out, reps to him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnEqzMhwrMo

  20. shaheryar

, I cannot find the pspemu folder, I cannot create a new one either

  21. Peter

Awesome !!! I use the VHBL Bubble (UNO) for Adrenaline PSP and it works !!!
Without henkaku vhbl starts and with henkaku active PSP XMB boots !
    YAY , great work.

  22. sloppycrap

Everyone saying they can’t find the pspemu folder didn’t read the instructions:

    * Launch molecularShell, press START and set ‘Enable unsafe homebrews’ to ‘On’.
    * Reboot your PS Vita and then install VitaShell from molecularShell (https://github.com/TheOfficialFloW/VitaShell/releases).

  23. ZeroSbr

Wait, so if I install this, I will no longer be able to play PS1 games on my Vita until it’s fixed?

    • sloppycrap

You can’t play PS1 games in the Adrenaline environment, official PSN PSOne Classics or otherwise. You can still play official PSN PSOne Classics from LiveArea and anything you want through RetroArch.

    • >_>

That’s correct ZeroSbr, you have to update to the latest official firmware to play PS1 games.

    • >_>

Correct, you have to update to the latest official firmware to play PS1 games.

  24. JohnnyLove007

  25. Akionyan

    How to install plugins tho?

  26. udkultimate

WOW. This is awesome. By the way, does pspdisp runs on this cfw PSP for Vita? If so, this will be awesome!!!

  27. Meler

I’ll give it a try on psTV 😀

  28. Nahuel

When I enter the PS Store I don’t see any PSP Demos available, just purchasable games).
I’m in the LatinAmerica Store, by the way.
    Is that the reason?

  29. Abid Suleman Ahmed

Been following Adrenaline for quite some time now. @theFlow you are a hero!!

  30. Hyperkidd29

Does Adrenaline work if taiHEN is not enabled? If so does that mean that you could update with it? if you can update i wouldnt reccomend because there is no other way to access the ISO folder unless the failmail trick is unpatched in 3.63

  31. delta191

Gave up on this, spent 3 hours trying to create the ux0:pspemu, without success, I have the enable homebrew on, I have vitashell 1.42 installed but still cant see a pspemu directory under my ux0: directory.
My filezilla FTP wont allow me to create the directory either.
Going to wait for a while, had enough for one day.

    • Josh

Huh. Had that problem just now, and after I restarted my vita, VitaShell displayed all the directories. While I couldn’t see all the folders in FileZilla, I could copy it to ux0, then use VitaShell to do the rest.

  32. Yyu

my brain explode with overjoyed, thanks.

  35. crazy_p

Hi Guys is anyone able to load Homebrews, like Emumaster, Deadalus64 or any other Emulator? I alway get that C1-2858-3 Error after it stucks at the PSP Loading screen. ISO and CSO Games work both.. Any Idea? Thanks

  36. AnonY

Isn’t there a way to install a PSP demo/mini on PSV that doesn’t need to make a transfer through PS3 or download from PS Store? I’m asking that because my PS Store doesn’t seems to have any free PSP demo or mini.

  37. Darko

Very Happy about this!! thanks to the FLOW, great job man, everything works like a charm.
Thanks also to lunacryd for posting the video.
I’m using this on a PS Vita TV… as far as I can see, if I turn it off I need to connect to the website to do the “magic” once more… Is there / will there be an offline installer? or some sort of permanent mod?
I usually bring my vita TV with me on holydays or areas were there is no connectiviity so it would be fine to have some old PSP classics too in the same small little package…
Thanks in Advance to anyone who will answer this, (^_^)/

  38. Darko

Thanks to TheFlow, Great Work man!!!
Thanks to lunacryd for the tutorial link.

I’m using this on PS Vita TV, as far as I can see once I turn off the system I need to visit the site to apply the “magic” again…
Is there a way to enable this process off-line? Will a custom firmware enable this with no need to repeat the process every timeafter turning off the system?
I spend some time in off-line areas so it would be a great to have access to PSP game….

    Thanks in advance.

  39. marco

Hello, very nice mod you made yesterday congratulations for the creator, but why not create an offline mode installer “what needs to be done every time you turn off the console” or that make compatible with the old boot because not alway you can find a free wifi point if you are not home and you can not always keep all the time the psvita in pause mode
