Vitamin: Team FreeK teases Vita Game dumper (video)
An unknown group named Team FreeK teased a game decryption tool for the Playstation Vita. The tool is nicknamed Vitamin, and allegedly allows the hacking group to dump decrypted versions of PS Vita official games.
The Video shows a system dumping video game Geometry Wars, on a retail PS Vita running HENkaku. The video does not show the game running after the decryption process though.
Vitamin: is this real?
Under other circumstances, I would use a huge dose of skepticism on such a video announce. After all, this could be a semi-elaborate prank involving a simple homebrew that just spits out text on the PS Vita screen.
However, the dumping process shown on the video, and in particular the name of the dumping application, matches what I have been shown by a group of hackers recently.
It is extremely unclear here if Team FreeK are the people behind the homebrew, or if the tool got leaked to some people who are just trying to get some quick fame. In the past, other hackers have used various names to release new tools, such as Dark Alex in the PSP days when he created the M33 Custom Firmware, pretending to be a collective of Russian hackers.
The video says no word on a release. For now, please take this information as a rumor until something more consistent shows up. In the meantime, you can check their video below:

@Wololo, even if this is a real thing or not, Piracy is real now: Odin Sphere decrypted is out, along with DECRYPTED UPDATE for tokyo xanadu 1.04 (or 1.4, idk)

The thing that gets me is that 1. He doesn’t show it running, and 2. The real thing is that it would need to run on a different vita, because his license is still linked to that console since he purchased it there, all I really want is a way to put ps1 and psp games that I own already digitally that are not transferable, playable on my vita from the home menu.
So the part he couldn’t show is that the manual of the game needs to be opened in another application and then needs to be minimized? The secret is which app that is?
At 3:40 there are 4 icons on the middle top of the screen, Home, Vitamin, the game and our 4th mystery app. Any ideas?

@wololo – Why give this any merit? Why post it on Twitter? You said that you were given software but have not run it. Please run it and see if the programs are similar. That would at least give this some merit, wouldn’t it. I’m surprised that you have not tried that dumping software that was given to you. At least then you would have a real hands on experience to help dispel the fakes from the real work. I’m not trying to dump on you but you do have proof that could validate some of these teases.

The only way to obtain the eboot.bin decrypted without the key is to obtain it while the game is decryped (Being played on the vita). I was wondering when someone would make a tool to do this.
🙁 I just want PSP piracy on Vita since that is already easily available. Why bring this first? At least let the handheld live a little bit longer.
