PS Vita Firmware 3.61 is out, patches the HENkaku exploit
Firmware 3.61 is now out for the PS Vita. As expected, this latest firmware update is a “stability” update that patches the “HENkaku” hack which was released 10 days ago for firmware 3.60. Those who want to enjoy the benefits of the hack should not update to firmware 3.61.
Again, to make it clear: if you want to use HENkaku, do not update to 3.61. The hack is patched in this firmware, and there is no downgrade possible, no “trick” to make it come back for you.
At the time of this writing, Sony’s official site still says 3.60 is the latest version, but it’s clear the fix is now going out to all PS Vitas that try to connect to the PSN.
If your PS Vita is showing you a message saying you need to update to 3.61, typically rebooting the console might do the trick for the message to go away.
People who stay on firmware 3.60 won’t be able to directly access the PSN. There are, however, ways to still do lots of stuff involving the PSN with your PS Vita 3.60, including activating it, downloading content (through a PS3), and more. You’ll want to start and use QCMA for content transfer. See our Lower PS Vita Firmware guide for dummies for more tricks. Also you can use Vita Update blocker 3.60 to access the PSN on firmware 3.60, for now.

E para todos aqueles que ficaram de mimimi e não atualizaram para o 3.60 ainda.
Tomaram no buticu!
e para o idiota que não percebe que dá para actualizar manualmente para o 3.60…

How do you activate a PSN account on a PS Vita with a lower firmware?
Just read up on how to, but I don’t own a PS3. That’s unlucky…
Check out the first paragraph in this thread:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/v3-6-how-to-swap-ps-vita-memory-card-of-different-psn-accounts-without-formatting-using-henkaku.436414/
It will explain what you need to do to activate PSN account on a lower firmware.
You should do it ASAP, because whenever a new System Update is released; Vita Updater Blocker will stop working after a few days-weeks, so I heard.
We need to confirm this
Still waiting for ps1 and psp emulator…
whoa what is this
Is this for real?? 😀
is this gonna keep popping up about a new firmware all the time? i like to do cross-save with a few of my games i have between vita and ps4, and i don’t want to keep my system in flight mode
oke who is gonna try tis first?
I tried it, its working 100%
100% true
I will enjoy the ban on an account I made for getting banned 😛
how do we know this is not some *** thing?
can confirm this is working. I didnt expect it to be this easy either o.o make sure if you are not ready for a banned account however to unlink everything with psn (: or if your already denied access to psn your good.
Good job, Predator0808. you should try uploading this to a different site tho as your link may be removed as it is against the sites rules.
This is not my work, just pasted here the link – but glad that gained interest of that topic 🙂
there was no plan for update until some hackers start to mess with the ps4 so they kill the hack. if only hackers have stay on vita maybe it won’t be a update because they don’t care about the vita the only mayor game coming out is world of final fantasy…
I can confirm this is working. For those scared of a ban, just turn on Airplane mode when playing and you’re safe.
@wololo Do you know if this is safe to play safe?
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a company treat a product quite like Sony have treated the Vita.
Step 1. Have your hardware engineers create a very original, for the time very powerful and ambitious piece of hardware ready for some great PS2.5 quality games.
Step 2. Give up on the thing barely two years into it’s life cycle because your newest home console has outsold Microsoft, which is apparently all that counts.
Step 3. Have your security team put more effort into patching things that make it useful, i.e. homebrew, than your sales/dev teams ever did making great games and selling the thing.
Step 4. No profit?!
Honestly, they’re ***hats. Even when Nintendo has a flop console they support it strongly with first party titles throughout – the Wii U still has a couple of top games coming out before it’s replaced with whatever the real name for the NX project will be. Sony would do well to copy their example. After all, without Nintendo there would be no PlayStation in the first place…

I reposted this from something on the forums, I like how it turned out. Silly Sony.
installs and runs fine using vitashell 0.7.
Out of memory error using molecularshell??
Hello everyone. Here’s a question… Before this mandatory update I was getting some games from PSN (RE, DinoCrisis, etc) how can I downlad’em and still have FW 3.60? In old days I used the ‘airplane trick’ but i don’t know if still works or how can I do it nowdays. Could someone help me? Thanks.
From Son Goku’s post in the Talk forum: https://mega.nz/#!ydoDkSIS!8rvQ0osIIy1O … oztkXiyXxQ
On your Vita, go into Network>Wifi Settings>(your connection>Advanced Settings and then in Proxy Server, switch to USE, then run that program in the download link and input your PC’s IP address into your Vita’s Proxy settings, along with the port that shows up on the CMD in the program, which should be 8080.
I’ve managed to activate my PSN account thanks to this, and access the PSN store.

Damnit I didnt get a chance to install VHBL you have to download a stupid PSP demo from the store.
If I haven’t yet upgraded to 3.60 – how do i upgrade to this now lower firmware?
Download the 3.60 firmware and install it manually, not via PSN.

Unfortunately you’ll have to find the firmware file yourself, I don’t have a link to it.
Anyway to transfer games from the ps3 to the vita tv? I know its possible with the.vita but Im not finding anything for the tv.
it is with vita update blocker
can someone link me to 3.60 ? playstation site shows only 3.61 now
Thanks
Damn bruh, you got lucky. I just downloaded this original file 2 days ago from the official website of Sony: https://www.mediafire.com/?4z94059rjjzs4n6
Dammit guy! You win the internet today!
thanks mark
You’re welcome 🙂
Thanks alot
So I guess the next question is: getting this to the vita.
Refused the stupid update. Now when I open the Henkaku app or Vitashell07 I get a error code. Also the PS TV is very laggy now and wont let me search on the browser wololo or henkaku. Anyone else having this issue? I tried rebuilding database and it did nothing.
why they don’t update somethinf useful like multiple account for one vita?
I’m getting an error has occurred (C1-6775-5) everytime I open Henkaku app or Vitashell07. The PS TV is also very laggy and the browser wont let me search this website and Henkaku. Anyone else having this issue?
Mine is still working properly on local hosted server.
Does anyone know if it’s still possible to ‘upgrade’ to a lower firmware? Like going from 3.18 -> 3.60?
yes it is, there are many tutorials about it. (please people search the forums for what you are wanting other then filling EVERY post with comments asking about this stuff)
Can anyone confirm if the ps3 activation trick still works? My new vita finally decided to be delivered today >_>
Refurb for 120. im sure the factory firmware is still 3.60 or lower. Buddy has a ps3 i can use for the activation.
My vita was woefully unstable before this latest firmware update! I couldn’t access the youtube, facebook, or skype apps, and I couldn’t get any new or updated apps for my vita. i expect all these issues have been solved now! And I’ll bet there’s a ton of new big-budget games just waiting to be released! Hurrah for 3.61!
Sure thing sony LOL!
> “Stability”
Yep, Sony confirmed!1!!1!!
Yahahah
cheers for …

***, i lol’d so hard at “enjoy your ban”
Since i have no access to psn does this mean i wont get banned by using HENkaku
thats what im thinking,
aloso ty @ Predator0808
Sadly i needed to upgrade “DMAN PSN, i realy had should dl all my games BEFORE an update came out from sony”
LUCKY i had VHBL installed with Henkaku on 3.60 before and it still works after update from 3.60 to 3.61
I just hope Henkaku will be possible on 3.61 sooner or later if stuff goes nice with it in the future
can’t play online so i gave on this sadly… going buy a PS TV once this gets PS1 games up and running.
i can’t get the update blocker to work :c
i get an error :c NW-10743-5
i run it both as an administrator and normal, no text messages after the traffic is DISABLED 🙁
do i have to have henkaku installed for this to work?
If you are trying to activate the Vita, Vita Update Blocker doesn’t allow you to do it in the normal way; you actually need to use it to go into PS Store, and then attempt to download one of your games. Then the Vita will activate itself in the process.
I have one PSVita and one PSTV. I be able to upgrade my Vita and remain my PSTV in 3.6? I have only one memory card and i share between both.
My interest is playing classics games (emulators) in my TV
sooner or later sony will upgrade the certificates for the device thus content backuped with a newer firmware won’t work on an firmware.
I had 2x 3.52 Vita. After I upgraded one to 3.55 and made a backup of the save games, the 3.52 Vita couldn’t use the content anymore. (some C2-XXXXX error)
So no you can’t share your memory card.
I’ve updated to 3.61, restarted my Vita and VHBL (and all the homebrew stuff I have in it) is still working. Am I missing something?
