  1. I can confirm this is working.

    >However, if this was just a lucky person with access to a development version of the game, then the PS Vita is still safe.

I’m like 99% sure this is the case

“Allegedly, the game was dumped from a Vita Devkit and stripped of its DRMs. The question that is unanswered here is if someone had access to a DRM free copy of the game, or if some people actually managed to remove the DRMs from a commercial games.”
The guy that had this game on his testing kit talked about it a lot before he could dump it, there’s no doubt that it came from him. You don’t need to scare people as though regular commercial games are being pirated this way.

I work with what I know, what I’m supposed to know, and what I can talk about. What I wrote is accurate in that context, even if that’s not obvious 🙂

  5. zagvot

I hope its safe, cos I think that if this really a hack it will be the end of this handheld console…
i just want to play ps1 psp games …

    • sj33

Because Sony are totally supporting the console with a huge stream of upcoming games, right?!

      • zagvot

well I don’t know but even we hack the vita we should also support the game developer in a little way I think?
but in my mind I want to play vita games just cant afford it right now (3rd world problem)

      • Clay

Sony doesn’t really develop games, game developers do. Blame them.

    • Dylan

Then why not buy a PSP?????

You guys make me want to shoot myself sometimes.
You can buy a refurbished PSP for 50 dollars and it would be 100x easier to hack. The memory cards would be 1000x cheaper.(You could EASILY buy a MicroSD 2 Pro Duo adapter for like 10 dollars) and you wouldn’t have to worry about updates disabling your ability to play games! It would be easier to transfer your games too!

People around here need to grow up. Only 1% of the users here only want their Vita for PSP “””””backups””””” and Ps1 “”””””Backups”””””. You guys pay out the *** to buy a Ps Vita, not to play actual vita games, but to play PSP games…***?

      • Jack Attack

The Vita has a MUCH better looking screen and bigger screen, much better analog stick and has two.

Those are just some of the reasons.

      • ZeroSbr

Emulators which take advantage of the Vita’s vastly superior hardware are also a reason to get a Vita…in fact, I’m pretty sure that emulators on the Vita is what 99% of people interested in hacking the Vita want to see. That, and of course actual Vita piracy. Personally, I’d be okay if the newer hacks never allowed for backups, and instead only allowed for emulators. How awesome would it be to have a handheld N64 (the cobbled together one doesn’t count)? The Vita could probably even do some decent Sega Saturn emulation.

        • Angry Dingus

No, it couldn’t. Where the heck are people getting this *** idea that the sega saturn could easily be emulated on the vita?
The saturn is barely documented, and the emulators for it are already wonky as heck. Add to the fact a lot of saturn games run like *** even on official hardware (burning rangers especially is a joke, with FPS dropping to single digits in normal gameplay.)

I get it, you don’t understand what you’re talking about, but then that’s all the more reason for me to tell you to shut the heck up.

          • h

sega saturn runs pretty well on android devices with yabause. hopefully henkaku will shift the focus of that and some other emulators to vita.

          • need2burn

Apparently you’re completely unfamiliar with with the SSF emulator. My lousy Intel integrated laptop video card runs everything I throw at it through SSF. Unfortunately it’s closed source, but we may get a build some day, who knows.

Take a look at the compatibility list -http://www.segasaturn.org/USA%20update.htm.

Almost all unplayable games have Netlink which has been implemented yet. Is this where I tell you to shut the heck up?

      • DoniStunts

My case was, my PSP broke, and i wanted to try the new handheld (it was new at the time) with it you can watch youtube videos PS3 and PS4 remote play (I use it a lot) and ofcourse the better controls, screen resolutions, dimensions, the new PSvita charger port and so on, PSvita games suck but its an amazing media player to play old school games. PSvita AAA games are completely dead and Sony is doing nothing about it, and opening all ports to play the oldschool games would make a lot of people buy the Vita, well thats just my opinion.

      • TheInfidelBear

Be my guest, buy me a PSP 😛

    • Azlee Rico

PSP was hacked early yet it still was popular. Blame it on games on mobile devices nowadays. Games on mobiles are cheap, fun, perfect for passing time and graphics are also very good. The lack of physical keyboard can be compensated with a bluetooth gamepad. Apps are better supported. And did I mention that the games were cheaper?

      • Dylan

Phone “Games” can’t even be considered real games by todays standards. Do they look good, yeah. Do they kill time? Yeah. Are they fun for 20 seconds? Yeah.
But let me ask you, where are games that could compete with Call of Duty, Uncharted, and many other AAA games? There are no games on mobile devices that don’t use microtransactions out the *** just for you to play the game. And even the games that charge you around 8 dollars for a “premium” game, they still use microtransactions so it’s still pay 2 win. Phone games are absolute garbage and the only good titles are ports from older consoles like GTA Vice City and GTA SA. Other than that mobile phones are trash for gaming…. But I guess people only care about playing a game for 20 seconds than actually having a good experience.

  6. Lucasso

Is there any way to update PSTV to 3.60? 3.61 was launched today and i was waiting for PSP emulation on HENkaku :-/

  7. AAKASH

Everybody knows about the future of psvita and its game library.
Mobile gaming is much better, then whats the use of these hacks.

  8. Niklas

“The question that is unanswered here is if someone had access to a DRM free copy of the game, or if some people actually managed to remove the DRMs from a commercial game.”

It’s a development build. As far as I’m aware, those should always be unencrypted and unsigned.

In fact, regularly, only testkits/devkits are *able* to run unsigned binaries; HENkaku’s core feature is making that exact same functionality available to retail consoles.

  9. domthybomb

The DRM has definitely not been broken. It was from an unreleased game dumped from a devkit. Devkits wouldn’t be using DRM when you build a game. The DRM is put on when you send the Gold Copy to Sony for certification to get printed.

  10. Why are sad we should be happy lol

    • Seth

Because people are dumb and they think that saying they don’t pirate makes them better somehow even tho they’ll run pirated games on an emulator no problem and they think that piracy will kill the vita even tho it hasn’t killed pc, psp, ps3, and other consoles. It’d be a good way to get back at Sony tho for using such ridiculous memory cards and pricing eberything so high and have 0 support for the people who pay said ridiculous prices for their products.

  11. Ricochet90

    Yay finally.

If I get this I will be banned right?

    Even If I disable Wi-fi?

  12. Zeke

From the limited amount of information available perhaps it’s too early to say, but if this is just a devkit dumped version then there’s no cryptography breaking and it’s not going to open the floodgates to retail Vita carts/downloads being broken.

But hey. For those that don’t have it, but do have HENkaku, VitaShell and a working internet connection, free game to try before you buy.

  13. Why are we sad we should be happy that people are taking the Vita places

    • ZeroSbr

Probably because piracy means that less developers will make games for it. Sure, Sony abandoned it long ago, but 3rd party devs are still making stuff for it. Now that piracy is imminent, devs might cancel games, or decide against a Vita port/exclusive. This wasn’t as big of a problem with the PSP because by the time it had been out for 4 or so years, it had already sold very well, which attracts devs. Now the Vita is getting piracy, and it doesn’t even have good sales going for it. The last hope for the Vita will be gone if piracy becomes a thing.

The hackers should wait until 9th gen starts, and THEN make piracy possible, if ever.

      • Lion_Amongst_Men

you understand the game that was released isn’t the finished game which means no release patches, the company that made this game went under and this is actually a leaked build of the game so its not piracy, the ver of the game you see now is from a dev kit that belonged to the team which was sold on the grey market.

  14. KimoMaka

The thing is that he leaked “this game” , why not any other commercial game ? because this one isn’t released yet and he probably (99%) have a free-DRM copy of it 😉

  15. Roshuou

The guy just wanted to give the blogs a new clickbait article to make haha… Not that I’m critizing the post, because it’s always good to hear something new about the scene. Well, it’s kind of frustrating to not know what’s truly behind that intriguing dump release.

  16. marc

can someone link me to 3.60 ? playstation site shows only 3.61 now
my vita is probably on 3.50 or something ? some this new hack support it ?

    Thanks

  17. Ricochet90

If anyone wants to try this without being b& just unlink your PSN account.

Follow the steps, the last option is the only one who works without using the PSV.
    https://www.playstation.com/en-nz/get-help/help-library/my-account/device-activation-deactivation/how-to-deactivate-a-playstation-vita-system/

Please note that you can only do this once every 6 months.

  18. Noob

I can’t find the archive to download and try it 🙁

  19. Meler

  20. meysam25

plz give my some keyword for search

  21. ddave54321

Wasn’t there some Vita game rips released by a group called ‘Venom’ a while back or are they all fakes??

  22. Aurizen

Just waiting on that CFW lol

  23. TheRealSlimShady

    Oh no!
    Its happening!
The gold treasure has been found on that island…..and all pirates are gonna come…….oh no….too many will die for that treasure! 🙁

  24. Mido

I say that some people are able to decrypt strip drm and encrypt the game
But i doubt they’d share their method anytime soon
Or maybe they’ll release few games to get some attention

  25. Shikhar

Hi, wanted to enquire would it be beneficial to download uno and gladiator and save their backups on pc using qcma? Or will Henkaku eradicate the need for loading hbl or tnv using psp game exploits in future? As after some time vita update blocker will also stop functioning. Thanks for any feedback or suggestions.

    • Anon

You can probably spare some 500MB on your PC for both of them, and you don’t even have to if you own a PS3 capable of PSN access. If not, just download and backup to PC every single thing you have on your PSN account.
The firmware spoofer for accessing PSN on 3.60 is very much not guaranteed to happen. VUB and download queue tricks will stop working in a week or so and that’s it for those who don’t have a PS3 nearby.

  26. Bryant Booth

Man that adventure time really works….CFW is coming…..LOL!!!

  27. nik

    thanks

  28. Alex

    Merci !

  29. troll

    “Vita means life”

  30. Meler

this game does not need psn accout either activated too 😀 nice 😀

  31. AcromioClavicular

Today is a great day in the psvita history.

  32. BADUMTSS

And games keep coming on scene:
    Final_Fantasy_X_HD_Remaster_MULTi5_READNFO_EUR_PSV-TRSI
    Final_Fantasy_X-2_HD_Remaster_MULTi5_READNFO_EUR_PSV-TRSI

  33. Hames

    RIP cobra black fin?

    • elidibiz

I do. not sure I can post it here, though. it’s real but won’t boot. basically everything’s decrypted except for the eboot itself.

  34. Yolo

Anyone has the NFO for the TRSI release?

  35. Clay

I’m upset it’s a *** Adventure Time game and not a game worth playing.

  36. Nio9345

So much for the overpriced-underhorse powered obligatory memory cards that made to prevent piracy. The irony is just stagering.

    • Bryant

But what’s real sad is even after piracy hit the vita the memory card are still going to be expensive.

  37. ThatGuy

I wonder how the cobra black fin gonna sell with this new method of piracy released?

  38. DarkDranzer

There is no piracy now on vita – at least for vita games. But GOOD NEWS – TRSI is already making vita game dumps ,but with cryptic eboot.bin. We can’t play them now, but as soon as eboot.bin gets fully decrypted, we will get play games in no time! Dumps are fully henkaku compatible.
