Vita hack: Henkaku.xyz taken down, replacement is henkaku.me
Update: roughly 12h after this incident happened, the issue with henkaku.xyz was solved. Yifanlu stated that both henkaku.xyz and henkaku.me can now be used, the latter being considered as a backup.
Original article:
There’s been a bit of trouble in the Vita scene earlier today as henkaku.xyz, the official site for the henkaku hack, appeared to be down for several hours.
Davee and Yifanlu, 2 of the developers behind the HENkaku hack, have confirmed the problem, stating that apparently a random person had reported henkaku.xyz as a malware/spam website, which prompted url blacklist services to instantly blacklist the site.
Do NOT use @xyz (.xyz) people! Random people can report your domain as spamming and URIBL will blacklist it without checking!

The site has now moved to henkaku.me, as confirmed by Davee himself on twitter. Soon after that url was set up, several people reported still having issues accessing the site, related to ssl certificate updates, which are happening right now.
Bottom line, henkaku.me is now the official HENkaku url to access with your 3.60 Vita in order to get the HENkaku hack installed, but it might still be a bit unstable at this point (you might get secure connection errors)
Molecule’s emergency response team bought https://t.co/Z3ngsXR8OX, set up cloudflare, rebuilt, deployed, and tested in 15 minutes 🙂

To me this confirms the urgent need to be able to host HENkaku in a decentralized way, or on one’s localhost. HENkaku-webserver is one solution that allows users to do that, but currently only runs on Windows.
Why do people do this. It’s just destructive & unnecessary. Unless it was a Sony employee, there really was no need. How sad. Yifanlu & the team really put a lot of time & effort into this, and people still cause chaos
Sony put a lot of time and effort into the Vita
best joke 2016
still the best joke 2017
Again, best joke 2018
Again, still the best joke 2018
Actually, this is the best TERRIBLE joke of all time.
BTW you’re either too stupid to believe in that, or you’re just too stupid to let sony handle your poor mind like that.
Oh well, who cares. You’re stupid anyway.
It was a Great Joke, 2016
Yeah, Sony didn’t abandon the PS Vita and deem it a Legacy device, thanks for the reminder!
Because HENkaku isn’t going to revive the Vita, it’s going to destroy it, right m8s?
We really need a video or easy to follow guide to get our own personal host up.
Too true, but in fairness the readme included is pretty decent.
I am almost certain they’ll remove the need for this to be hosted as soon as Sony patches. After that I imagine they’ll be more than happy to share.
So, does this mean that HENkaku functions like the 3DS Homebrew enabler? That it needs to be able to go online each time in order to run?
HEN in HENkaku stands for Homebrew ENabler. All HEN, regardless of system, requires you to run it once after full reboot. Not needed if device is put into sleep mode.
So the answer to your question is yes.
Only when you reboot your vita (As in completely shut down).
Yes. Unless you setup an offline webserver as it says in the article.
Not even a week and this happens…
This is the reason why I do not like online-reliant things like digital-only games, cloud computing and online-DRM.
Fortunately this will be no longer a problem in the near future.
The exploit is quite close to be fully reversed: http://pastebin.com/aSJQbJyd
*** the ***
Don’t do this *** until sony patches it… You or whoever’s responsible are just lending them a hand 🙁
Thank you very much for posting this. Hopefully it will lead to HENkaku being ported to older firmwares, most desirably “the golden” 3.18 since there are no PSone and PSP kernel exploits vor 3.60 in sight.
I feel sorry to xyz…
Why do i get the feeling that a lot of commenters legit scroll to this part to ask stuff that’s answered usually in the very first or very last sentences?
We need a way to host this on a mobile phone. I remember something similar with a 3ds hacks a while back. If i could host this on my nexus phone it would be perfect.
