3DS: SmileHax released for app SmileBASIC (US and JP)
Developer Plutoo just released SmileHax, a homebrew-enabling exploit for the 3DS that relies on a vulnerability in app/game SmileBASIC.
If this sounds familiar, that’s because developer MrNbaYoh had released a similar (but slightly different) exploit for the same App about a week ago. Plutoo’s exploit has the benefit of being ready for the JP version of the game, while MrNbaYoh had not released a JP port yet. Additionally, Plutoo’s exploit is compatible with SmileBASIC 3.3.1, the latest updated of the app (MrNbaYoh’s exploit was for 3.2.1).
This is a “primary” exploit, meaning you don’t need any other exploit or Power Saves to load it.
The exploit is compatible with the latest 3DS firmware, 11.0.0 at the time of this writing.
Plutoo credits the following people for this release:
- yellows8 – help, usa constants
- smea – otherapp
- MrNbaYoh – for developing a similar exploit

You can download SmileHax on the developer’s page here. You’ll find details on running the exploit, and installing homebrews there as well.
