Mandatory Playstation 4 system software 3.55 has been released!
Some time has passed between Sony’s last Playstation 4 firmware update and the current one.
The newly released playstation 4 system software version 3.55 seems to be a mandatory update, this means it is required for using the Online services provided by Sony (PSN Store, Online Gaming, etc).
But what does this new firmware offer?
The new system software 3.55 claims to improve the stability of the overall system performance, so they’ve changed pretty much nothing at all.
The official changelog is “This system software update improves system performance”, which usually means bugfixes or patched exploits.
The Update is around 300 MegaBytes in size and should be available for all regions.

Something just came to my mind. I’ve just bought a new 2tb HD to my ps4. What if instead of installing the 3.55 system, I find the 1.76 file and install it. IF someone has it, would it be possible downgrading th eps4?
doubt it, chances are there are files that check what version your hard drive is running. Would be nice to know how big the cmos and eprom is. makes me wonder if the ps4 is similar to a mobile device with fuse systems after unlocking it, similar to android bootloaders
