New 3DS exploit upcoming for game Pokémon Picross?
Developer MrNbaYoh, who was behind the recent release of the Pokémon Alpha Omega Ruby Sapphire hack (Basehaxx) last week, made a strong suggestion that he also has an exploit running on Pokémon Picross. People have already nicknamed the upcoming exploit “pichaxx”.
Just as his previous release, this is a “secondary” exploit, meaning you will need a primary exploit such as Ninjhax (a hack that requires the game cubic ninja, which prices are skyrocketting to almost $90 nowadays) in order to install the hack. Note: Action Replay Powersaves will probably not work in this case given that it is an eShop only game.
The hack for Pokémon Picross has not been released yet and MrNbaYoh has not provided any release date. Pokémon picross is free and only available on the eShop, so whether you’re interested in the hack or not, you might want to download the game before Nintendo remove it from their eShop. Again, at this point no release date has been announced, let alone promised, but the game is free so there’s not much risk in downloading it.
Based on the video, it seems the game autoloads the save data at launch, which instantly triggers the exploit. This is interesting for people looking to launching an exploit pretty fast 🙂
So yeah I think it is working. pic.twitter.com/mQHzKHDi7H

hopefully smealum will release an updated oot3ds hax for 11.0 fw.
cool.
A secondary exploit on a cart requires a hacked machine, but you can at least install the exploit on the cart, then take the cart out and put in an unhacked machine to use there.
A secondary exploit on an eshop game doesn’t even give you that. At best, it lets you use a less reliable exploit once to install a more reliable one. If you’re downgrading, you only need to use an exploit once anyway, so an eshop-only secondary exploit is only of any use if you’re on 11.0 and have another exploit you can already use. While I’m sure there are some people in this situation, it can’t be all that common.
Never hurts to have more entry points~
On a side note, this is good for people with a primary exploit who want their friends/etc to have their own entry point.
I hadn’t heard of Basehaxx, thanks for pointing it out!
(I’ve been playing a LOT of Alpha Sapphire lately, and if it doesn’t ruin my save, I’ll give it a shot!)
Basehaxx was upstaged by release of the primary Freakyforms exploit at the same time.
