    Awesome!
Is there a way to rip PS3 games? Can image burn do that?

  3. almost says:

I could probably test some games out.
    my computer is
    -Intel i7 -4720HQ Cpu 2.60ghz
    -16 gb of ram
    -Nvidia Gtx965m and windows 10 os x64

I don’t think mobile processing would fair too well.

Do we know if this is a as CPU intensive as some other emulators? And how many threads are supported in the CPU?

    • CPUzX says:

      Windows 10 – 2560×1440 144hz
      CPU: Intel i7 6700K (4.4GHz OC)/Watercooled
      GPU: Nvidia GTX 980 Ti (1400MHz OC/custom bios)/Watercooled
      RAM: 2x8GB (16GB) 2666MHz DDR4
      MOBO: MSI Z170A Gaming Pro

Your laptop would be severely worn down from the beginning.

  4. Churraso4 says:

This is good. Since the Vita has been denied Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, guess this is how I’m gonna play it.
I really need that game in my life.

    • mixedfish says:

It’s so much of a ‘need’ in your life you can’t even fork out less than $50 for a used PS3?

      • Dmaskell92 says:

I’ve had 3, 2 are broken, and the 1 that works I never use. Who want’s to risk buying a used PS3?

  5. TinyTina says:

    mr first you sucksuck!

  6. Franky says:

This is amazing. I wonder what a theoretical full speed RPCS3 with fully optimized settings for games built in would require as far as system requirements go? Fingers crossed for my 860K and R9 270x.

  7. rjwboys says:

wonder what the min specs are

  8. Aedando says:

Dying to see Demon’s Souls emulated eventually. I’d love to be able to play it on my PC.

  9. VIVI says:

After this is as good or better than dolphin there will be no reason real reason toe have consoles.

  10. Zer01neDev says:

“Anyone up to check how The Last Of Us fares on RPCS3?”
Have tried TLOU, is just doesn’t work.

  11. diego says:

Wololo, you know if the emu is running it on native? I dont know if RPcS3 is able to filter or rescale games at this point… And I guess that if that happen the PC will probably burn…

  12. Arcade Bumstead says:

This looks too good to be true. Someone else confirm that this isn’t just a doctored video to make you download malware.

    • wololo says:

RPCS3 has been around for a while, it’s as legit as it gets. Just make sure you download it from their official github.

  13. john says:

It’s probably way cheaper to buy an older ps3 with cfw and use that than getting a powerful pc using 700-800 watts of power to emulate a console. Slim ps3’s will consume around 100 watts while playing, older phat ps3’s will consume around 120-200 watts of power. Do the math.

Otherwise it’s good to have, as once all ps3’s will stop functioning (inevitable in the long run) all we’ll have is emulators 🙂

  14. Smoker1 says:

    Would the following work?
    Win7 64Bit Pro
    GeForce GTX 670 2GB
    16GB RAM
    Intel i7-3770K 3.50GHz
Have tried a Buid of this but nothing happened. I Installed the Game via PKG Installer. Or does it run Disk/ISO only for now?

    • EvilG says:

Might be worth a shot – I wouldn’t expect much. Ram bandwidth is incredible in the test rig.

  15. Alaster says:

Excellent work! 😀 Keep it up!

  16. rjwboys says:

i wonder what minimal spects are

  17. Kira_Slith says:

That was a emulation on a PC? That looked as good as the real-deal and ran almost just as well! I’d bet the stuttering would be solved with a pair of good SSDs. But seriously, just wow, bravo and hats off to the people who pulled it off.

  18. DPyro says:

Anyone have the binary? Really don’t feel like installing everything to compile it all.

  19. brollyfan says:

finally a way to play demon souls

  20. tambre says:

    Hi, a (semi-active) developer here.
I noticed quite a bit of traffic coming from this article, so I have decided to check this out.

    1. Why does the word RPCS3 automatically link to a 2 year old build? That’s kinda ridiculous.
    2. “The tool”
    It’s not a tool, it’s an emulator.
    3. “pretty reasonable gear in terms of price”
Are you kidding me? That setup is *** insane enthusiast setup! The dude has the top of the line CPU (overclocked!), DDR4 RAM and quite a good GPU.
    4. “the game does not look like it is heavily demanding on CPU or GPU resources”
It’s pushing the limits of the emulator and the computer used.
    5. “Anyone up to check how The Last Of Us fares on RPCS3?”
Nice joke. It ain’t gonna work. There are only ~5 fully playable games.

Also, looking at the comments, I’d like to address a few more things.
    1. RPCS3 is currently more aimed at game developers, homebrew developers and at very big enthusiast (who mostly assist the developers).
    2. Compiled builds are available here: https://github.com/Bigpet/rpcs3/releases
    3. If you want to play actual PS3 games, then get a PS3. You’ll need to obtain games through legitimately through ripping them through your PS3 along with needed firmware and decryption files.
    4. Throwing hardware at the emulator won’t help. Optimization, graphical improvements and user friendliness are many years for now.
    5. If you are going to test the emulator, then please use the DX12 renderer. OpenGL renderer is crawling slow and is inaccurate and is missing many features compared to the DX12 renderer. Currently on the latest build OpenGL renderer is broken on AMD and Intel graphics cards, but there’s already a fix, which should get merged in a day or so.

  21. Nobody says:

Rpcs3 benefited from some devs to get its progress in RSX (Graphics..). However its SPU emulation is quite a problem IIRC, and this leads to some incompatiblity of most games which use SPU.
It is really appreciated to see anyone would like to deal with the SPU, Memory Management or even project architecture.. and simply welcome whoever would like to help and code.
Note: All my information above could be out-dated, you need to contact the devs on IRC or github.

  22. Zahin says:

I hope this means I can emulate Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, has anyone tried it yet?
