Tutorial: PS Vita Custom Bubbles for System Softwares 3.5x!
It took me pretty much the whole evening, but after some software crashes, recording fails and other problems, I’ve finally finished a thorough video tutorial for the EML-writer Custom Bubbles.
It is a bit chaotic, and based on Kanade Engel’s Tutorial, but in the end it should do the job. Enjoy!
So far this is only a video tutorial, but if you demand a text tutorial as well, I will take care of one as well (tomorrow, though). Nonetheless, I am going to include what you will need for this.
NotePad++ – A superior editor for text files and others.
Thunderbird – A powerful programm to manage your emails.
PBPUnpacker – The best utility to unpack PBP files.
SQLiteBrowser – This will allow us to edit our database.
QCMA – A custom-made CMA by Codestation. Superior to the default CMA.
PKG Viewer – A Packages utility tool.
Paint.net (optional) – A powerful image editor that supports the DDS-Format.
Custom Bubble Setup files & Writer.eml – Necessary for the Custom Bubbles.
Maybe Winrar, WinZip, 7-Zip or similar ones.
Of course you will need a PS Vita running Firmware 3.52 (or below), an email address and a random PSP game as base game. This base game can be nearly ANY game for the Playstation Portable.

Hey could anyone clarifu i have an official PS VITA on Firmnware 3.52 so i should be able to do this.
but can i ask what will this custom bubble hack allow me to do…. as i just want to be able to play emulators and some original psp games.
if anyone can tell me that be awwsum as i ve neveer been able to hack my vita at all and wonderd will ths do it.

I had this same problem, when you copy and paste that emil:……..line it doesn’t work. It only works after you type the entire thing out. So type it all out and it should work.

Has someone written a TEXT tutorial yet?
I dont like these video ones, as it takes too long. A text one you can skip ahead in seconds where a video you have to wait and wait and it takes as long as the video.
Will assigning other games id mess up save data, meaning making it unusable with other PSP emulators where original iso is used???

Can someone answer a few questions for me.
1. What do custom bubbles allow me to do. I assume psp games and possibly emulators.
2. I am currently on 3.52 but use remote play alot. Just wondering if after I install custom bubbles and update to 3.55 will I only be able to use the custom bubbles already installed or will I be able to create more since it was already done. Or does updating break all previously installed bubbles. Just weighing my options here
write all codes out no copy past . and it will fix the error code for the second mail . dont forget the “dot” at “app.db.” even so with subject hf fun

I tied this both with hackinformers tutorial and this one and for some reson it works when i try to do it for my vita but not my playstation tv i get the this application cannot be used with this system message. Please help also for the base game have tried megaman x maverick hunter and GTA liberty city stories both wich are compatible with my PlayStation TV does this not work on the TV
For the people with an email problem, try typing out the entire HTML part yourself. I noticed my copied link turned from:
random text
to
random text
Notice the – between app and .db

Cant execute SQL, gives me this error

Same here but solved it by redoing the email part again, i emailed myself again
subject- email:send?attach=ur0:shell/db/app.db.
and insert html- random textrandom text random text random text random text random text random text random text random text
then open it on my psvita click the random text … follow the rest of the tutorial

You get this error when you try to execute the file a second time.
If you made a mistake in the file and need to re-execute it after fixing the file, you need to cancel the modification partially applied, or use the untouched app.db.
If you simply tried to add a second custom bubble, you forgot to change the GAME ID in every line of the file (except the last one)
World of pool as base game doesn’t work with this method

To make a clickable link you have to send the email to your email address as a link the text can be anything as long as the link is to the path

Please can somebody help. I only have some PS Vita demos but no PSP Demo installed on my PS Vita. I can’t connect to the PSN Store as it asks me to update to 3.55. How can I get this to wok?

long a.ss guide but well worth it I was able to get Kingdom Hearts Birth by sleep bubble on my vita big thanks Zett my one question is can the game be made into a backup and restored like a normal game from here on?

If I create a custom bubble for VHBL, ARK or TN-V and then update to 3.55. I would be able to upload files to it later? To name, homebrew, ISOs, CISOs inside the PSP emulator? Thanks in Advance

Can anyone help me? I installed it just fine, everything works up until I tried to open it. At first I got the same error he did, and installed Pool Hall Pro, now I don’t get an error. It just comes up with the splash screen for a few seconds, and then closes to the “page” thing. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Anyone having an issue when opening writer.eml with Thunderbird? When I double click on the file it fills the text area of the email with a lot of text, unlike The Zetts email that shows one line. I have tried sending the file as an attachment but that doesn’t work either. Any ideas?
Are you using an Outlook account? I had the same problem. I sent the attachment via a google account, that seems to fix it.
Hi, I’m like a complete n00b at this stuff, I’d just like some clarifications on a few things.
I got my PSVita set up using the rejuvenate exploit and I haven’t used it since. So my Vita is on whatever firmware that was released on.
Can I still go to the PSN store on my Vita and download the PSP games I don’t want anymore or does this require some trick since I bought Sony blocked access to the PSN store if you aren’t on the latest firmware right?

If you download it on your PS3, then turn the WIFI off on your Vita and connect to QCMA on your PC then you can then connect it to your PS3 and transfer those games to your Vita. Even if you’re not on the latest FW
I have read that Pool Hall Pro won’t work, but has anyone tested with Ape Scape? (not Ape Quest)
Anyone has done this succesfully? With which base game?
Not sure if it was known or not but if you haven’t updated and don’t have a PSP game you want to sacrifice then you can download one on your PS3, connect your Vita to your PC with QCMA then connect it to your PS3 and you will be able to transfer files without getting the “Software Update Available” message preventing you from using content manager without updating to 3.55. But you have to connect to QCMA after every reboot or it will prompt you to update your vita when you try to connect it to your PS3. I just did this after updating my PS3 to whatever the latest version is earlier today.
You also have to connect to QCMA with WIFI disabled on the Vita and leave it disabled (in my experience) until you are done copying files from the PC or PS3 or next time you connect it will prompt for an update.
Worked perfectly fine. I will donate some money soon as a token of my gratitude. Who ever worked on this method truly deserves financial support.

-Is it save to install even more games with the same base game?
-Is it possible to install an even smaller basegame (with this method)? – If yes, which one would be the best basegame?
-Which exploid game works on firmware 3.52 and is it possible to run eCFW with them?

I tried it twice and when I send the app.db back via email it gets the ? instead of the picture so what do I do?
I’ve receives all other files via email, I’ve edited everything correctly, done it all step by step but it always fails when receiving the very last email, the app.db file.
HOW do I get the add.db to be a picture instead of a ?

I tried it with Daxter (psp game) as base game, I know it is very very big (It was the only one I had), and all worked well for me installing Tony Hawk Underground II, I just would like to know how to install emulators like the N64 emulator! 😀
I finally got it working. Had to use the email files from the PSTV hack to get the ? into a picture.
For some reason the email hack in this tutorial WONT let you write only read.
So far there are only 2 problems I have.
1, you cant back up the custom bubble so I cant transfer it to me other Vita.
2, most of my other legit games dont work. They had to connect to the internet and download a license again.
hmm well is it even worth keeping my vita at 3.52? i dont have any psp games and i see no reason to buy any becouse i have a pspgo running cfw
So I got the first bubble on and tried to add a second bubble and it removed the first one, what gives? How do I add a second, third, etc bubble?
Simply on the db entry, add +1 on the position.
For example if PSP GAME 1 is on position 5,0 for add a new bubble near it simpli set 5,1
I did that but it still removes the first one
check coordinates of your previos bubble, youre used same adresses twice, i added an 6 bubbles (persona collection) at once, sj just concentrate on position of previos bubbles 🙂 sorry for my english, for russian, its hard to explain T_T
