New Playstation Vita System Software to be available in a few days!
The Playstation Blog has just announced that the Playstation 4 system software 3.00 will be released on the 30th September 2015.
Due to PS4-RemotePlay it usually happens that the PS Vita will get a new Firmware Update as well, when the PS4 gets a major Firmware Update.
This means that as of the 30th September (maybe 31st 1st October for Europe/Asia) we will most likely get a new PS Vita system software as well.
If you’re asking yourself why we are telling you this, then read on.
We are of course telling you this, because of the massive release of Major_Tom & Mr.gas. They have released their Fail-Mail flaw for system software 3.52, because they were certain that the next PS Vita system software is going to fix said flaw.
Since the Fail-Mail flaw allows for not only Custom Bubbles, but also Custom Themes and a metric f-ton of other cool things, it is more than obvious to say that you should not update your PS Vita under any circumstances, unless you really have to.
Updating to this new Firmware Update will most definitely prevent you from using any kind of Custom Bubbles, Custom Themes and other Fail-Mail related modifications.

i wanted to know wheter this fail-mail exploit can be used to dump original ps vita cartridges and create backups……..so that i can throw away my cartridges and just copy the backup to vita again and play without the cartridge.
i.e.
can physical games be converted to digital games then playable w/o cartrdge ? 😀
it’s already possible for PSP games, but it has already been said that it’s nearly impossible to create backups for PS Vita 😛
You need te cartridge every time your vita resets iirc. So no stealing, ya can’t go down to gamestop buy a game and return it later.
Something like that already was demonstrated.

There is a difference between game backups and piracy dumbf#ck, piracy gives backups a bad name. Backups can be used to do more than just piracy, with them it’s possible to create a language patch for a game which won’t be localized for your region and, as OP stated, to not have to use the physical copy anymore…

Technically, yes.
Logically, we should wait for a new major Vita FW, though.
If Sony has any more “major” firmware releases for the Vita, I’ll be shocked. If anything the next firmware will probably just remove features – like the email app.

Sony’s obviously given up on trying to sell the Vita, but can they stop trying to “save” it with these updates? At this point it’s just trivial.
They just released 3 new colors in Japan. I wouldnt say that they have completely given up. The Vita will probably be around for at least two more year, at least in Japan.

He can update to any higher firmware whenever he wants. IF he should update (and yes, he should), he should update to 3.18 or 3.36. Definitely NOT anything that starts with 3.5x.

As long as you are at least on FW 3.xx, you should be able to use the Mail-Fail flaw.
I would still recommend to stay on 3.18, 3.20 or 3.36. NOT on 3.5x!

Quick question, via using the psp-installer through the EML exploit, how do I launch the psp homebrews, and if I made custom bubbles will they still work?

The tricky part is that, when you do a CMA backup for another person (in fact it’s not for anyone, you have to specify the Sony ID of the receiver), it deletes the PSN Activation.
But they are possible if you stay on 3.52, technically. I wanted to try them between my EU and JP account… I’m gonna do it :p

I already know that I’m gonna leave my 1k on 3.52 to keep this fail mail hack. I plan on updating my 2k to keep on current ofw. I’m just lost as what to do with my vita tv thats on 3.36 with the tn-v and tn-x, if everything comes together that was listed for the fail mail hack is it worth updating to 3.52, or am I able to utilize this even though in on a lower fw? Knowing that 3.52 will be worthless here very soon with an update I don’t see the point in losing tnv and tnx. Maybe we will get extra lucky and sony won’t have had enough time to patch this or remove the email app untl patched like psm.
They don’t need much time to patch the app, they will mst likely just pull the plug and remove it.
I don’t know why you want to update to 3.52, you can still use fail-mail on 3.36…
I predicted that they will just remove the email app completely. They don’t usually patch something that good, they are *** and remove features than leave them there for other exploits to turn up.

Ok this is my problem my PSN account got hacked then banned so i have not updated my PS Vita from 3.01 and i have the 101 Mega Mix running ARK and a few DLC and a few PSX games i dont mind losing should i update and lose the DLC and PSX games and add my new PSN account so i can be ready for the next update
