Qwikrazor’s sweets: Custom Bubbles for Firmwares 3.5x to be released soon!
Today is not the 1st April, and we are definitely not joking.
Developer Qwikrazor is going to release a new method for PS Vita Custom Bubbles, which will grant you the ability to use Custom Bubbles on Firmwares 3.50, 3.51 & 3.52+.
But what are the functions & restrictions of these new Custom Bubbles?!
Similar to the old Custom Bubbles, do Qwikrazor’s new Custom Bubbles allow you to pretty much convert any PSP game into a Homescreen Bubble for your PS Vita.
These Custom Bubbles can then be started like any other legit PSN bought title, even though these Bubbles aren’t bought games at all… Sort of.
Restrictions and Requirements
You will need an eligible base game, like with the first batch of Custom Bubbles, to use the secondary batch of Custom Bubbles.
Keep in mind that various games may not be used as a base game, due to the games having special restrictions applied to them, thanks to the strengthened security features of PS Vita firmware 3.10+, 3.30+ and 3.51+.
This means that pretty much all Minis are not eligible as base game, since firmwares as of 3.10 applied restrictions to Minis (without network functions), which limit them to only 24 Megabytes.
The games that were used as exploit titles for the firmwares 3.18/3.20 are also not eligible, since those have special restrictions as of 3.30, which limits them to only a mere Megabyte (1MB).
Various 3.3x exploit games also got this treatment as of firmwares 3.50/3.51/3.52, such as Puzzle Scape. Once again one mere Megabyte.
While this removes a lot of games from being eligible Base Games, keep in mind that every other game, that does not fit the above mentioned restrictions, should be good to go.
If you happen to have downloaded a few PSP Demos back in April 2014 (or was it 2013?), thanks to the PSN glitch, then you can easily use most of these PSP Demos as a base game.
Even if you have missed that 2 day window of the PSN being glitched, fret not, because we have a solution to this.
The PSP Demo “Ape Quest” should still be available on the PSN Store, and it should be downloadable to your PS Vita, as long as you have a Northern American, European or Australian/NZ PSN account.
In the end you will also need an exploit game for the Version 3.52 (or whatever version you want to use the Custom Bubbles on), to set up your very first Custom Bubble.
The highly limited exploit titles, such as Puzzle Scape, World of Pool & PoolHall Pro, should be (assumption!) good enough to set up your very first VHBL Bubble, which in the end won’t have any restrictions at all, the VHBL Bubble that is, as long as you stay clear from the above mention restricted games as base games (Minis, 3.18/3.20 exploits, some 3.3x exploits).
The 1 Megabyte limit of the current 3.5x exploit games should be (assumption on previous bubbles & neutered exploits!) good enough to set up a VHBL Custom Bubble, even though the 3.5x exploit games are kind of trash otherwise.
Features and Functions
After having covered the restrictions and requirements, lets continue with the features and functions of the new 3.5x Custom Bubbles.
As I have mentioned above, the 3.5x Custom Bubbles of Qwikrazor can be used to pretty much add any PSP game as a bubble onto your PS Vita’s Homescreen, just like a legit PSN bought game end up as a bubble on your PS Vita.
PSP games are not the only things that can be bubbled up, though. You can of course also bubbled up PSP homebrews, (nearly) regardless what said Homebrew is, it should work (this obviously excludes PSP-only content, such as OFW Updaters, PSP CFW Installers, Pandora software, and so on).
The only things that do not work (yet) are Playstation One games. PSOne games cannot be bubbled up, since they have a different structure than PSP titles.
These new Bubbles also lost the ability to use a custom Bootscreen (Splashscreen), which was a feature of Tom’s & MrGas’ Custom Bubbles.
Qwikrazor’s Custom Bubbles gained the ability to load Plugins, which seems to be a real deal breaker.
As demonstrated, you can, for example, run the Project Diva titles and apply a translation plugin, which grants you the ability to play these japanese-only PSP games as a partly translated english version (or whatever the plugin is translating the game into).
Cheat software, such as CWCheat & TempAR can also be applied, but keep in mind that this only works with the PSP Custom Bubbles, since Qwikrazor’s Custom Bubbles have nothing to do with PS Vita software titles. While I am at it, remember that you should never cheat in online (multiplayer) titles – only douches cheat online – Cheat in single player or offline.
Qwikrazor’s Custom Bubbles require a functional kernel mode exploit for the firmware they are used on, if the software you want to run also requires one (complex homebrews, PSP ISOs/CSOs). Simple Homebrews & the VHBL Bubble even works without a kernel mode exploit (if the Bubble was set up on an older firmware).
ETA and Everything else to know
Of course people want to know when all these awesome things will be available. Usually it is a bad thing to announce an ETA, because people will get mad really quick if you cannot keep your promised estimated release date.
Nonetheless do we tell you an ETA for the upcoming ARK-2 eCFW, the kernel mode exploit for version 3.51/3.52 and the Custom Bubbles. Since Sony is already beta testing their Playstation 4 system software 3.00, and since said version 3.00 will require a new PS Vita firmware to work with, it was decided that all these things are going to be released after a new Playstation Vita system software has been publicly release (such as 3.53, 3.55 or whatever the next one is).
We are very confident that the next firmware cannot patch these security flaws, since these, Qwikrazor’s, Custom Bubbles have been used since over a year, and no update patched them so far. They didn’t even get restricted or lost functions. They still work like they worked over a year ago, when Qwikrazor found this security flaw.
if you happen to be on version 3.51/3.52, then be sure to grab an exploit title for said firmwares, since you will need at least a bad exploit to set up your first Custom Bubble. Even the heavily restricted 1 Megabyte exploit titles are enough to set up your very first unrestricted Custom Bubble (which can then be used to set up even more Custom Bubbles).
While no exploit game for the new upcoming firmware has been prepared yet (as far as I know, that is), keep in mind that you can set up a Custom Bubble (preferable multiple ones) on firmware 3.52 via the current 3.52 exploit games, and then update to the new firmware, which in the end makes it possible for you to have both: Custom Bubbles and the most recent firmware.
Proper instructions how to set up your very first Custom Bubble (VHBL, eCFW launcher, ISO/CSO Bubbles) will be explained after the release of the kxploit, ARK-2 eCFW and Qwik’s Custom Bubbles, in a similar fashion to how we told you how to use Tom’s & MrGas’ Custom Bubbles.
Like I said at the beginning, these new Custom Bubbles are possible thanks to Qwikrazor’s endless efforts towards the scene, and a neat security flaw that Sony has overlooked (might be explained after the release).
So be sure to show Qwikrazor your gratitude, since that guy pretty much took care of the whole ePSP (PSP Emulator) Scene stuff in the last 15 months, even though he had a hard time doing so. He really deserves it.

Good try, but…
BAN.
Yeah, until I see the actual thing released, I don’t see a point in donating as this could simply be a way to farm donations and not see the actual product in the end. Waiting for the next update is pointless since Sony are more likely to update when this gets released. So basically, you’re being greedy qwikrazor by farming donations and delaying this “exploit” for bubbles.
If it gets released now, Sony can definitely patch it in the next FW.
If we keep it until Sony has to do the first move, it heavily reduces the chances of getting patches.
Btw, do you seriously want to tell me that the guy, who worked over 15 months on the PSP Emulator scene stuff, without seeing a single penny, seriously does not deserve a few dollar donations via Paypal? Because in that case you are scum.
You got him Z haha
I stand by what I’ve said. He’s just delaying this exploit that will probably never surface. His attitude was pretty cancerous on his twitter so what’s not to say he’ll be the same when saying he’ll release something that sounds unbelievably awesome but unfortunately, he’s too greedy taking donations and not showing actions.
If the man has any common sense, he would give us a true ETA instead of him (and you Zett) posting that it will be coming “soon” when in reality, he’s just waiting for the impossible vita update. Why does 1 little FW update matter in this case. Right now, the scene is based around Rejuvenate and how that has advanced at the moment.
So to conclude, release it if you’re going to release it instead of giving us all verbal prods to say that it’ll come as soon as Sony release an update that will never come. So yeah, don’t donate to someone guys who won’t show any content. It’s pretty pathetic that he wants money so badly he asks everyone he knows to post his PayPal link everywhere just so he can make a fast buck. Well letme tell you something. You ain’t getting my bucks.
Sony gonna patch it anyway, maybe not in a upcoming firmware, but definitely after you release it.
So why is it important to release it after the upcoming update?
Lets never release it, so sony never gonna patch it, lol.
Ban him from this site the z…
Going to donate atleast 500 bucks within a few years…..i.e after completing college and getting a job
Btw anyone who can teach me langauge used on vita or language with which I can contribute to those awesome techs some cool codes or exploits…..im a beginner aka noob 😀
“Btw, do you seriously want to tell me that the guy, who worked over 15 months on the PSP Emulator scene stuff, without seeing a single penny, seriously does not deserve a few dollar donations via Paypal? Because in that case you are scum.
Please tell me this is just a really bad joke? This is the same attitude that causes things like mods for games to go pay to use. Regardless of what he was working on, thinking he deserves money for doing something like working on an emulator in his free time is a complete joke. The fact that you think it is ok for him to be farming for donations simply because he didn’t receive money earlier is also a complete joke.
Those who work on the PSP scene are notorious for being the kinds of people who want to work alone and refuse to help others of the scene simply because they want to be the first ones to get something done. Believing that someone deserves a donation because that person sat back and said that he didn’t need or want any help is *** ***.
The only scum here is you “The Z”.
If this were anyone else I’d agree, but you must be new to the scene if you think he’s simply farming donations. Pretty disrespectful if you ask me. Even if the 0.0001% chance he is simply farming and will back out of the release think of it as donations for his prior work which I’m sure you’ve already used. There will always be a nother update for the Vita, whether that release is a week after this release or a month it makes no difference. Releasing it now will all but guarantee a delay of FW 3.55 so everything will be patched in no time.
But hey, if that’s a problem feel free to leave. No one will miss you.
How long have you been around the vita scene… or any scene?
Qwikrazor has pulled through for this community on many occasions and as far as I can remember when a release has been promised it has always come no matter how useful/useless it is to certain members.
As for the delaying factor… your argument is invalid:
Releasing now guarantees that Sony have the information available to patch this flaw in their upcoming release.
Delaying until after gives some security, if it is not patched in the upcoming release it will be a longer time window to make use of said exploit before Sony implements a fix in a future Firmware.
The next firmware after this one probably wont be for some time given that this one will drop any day.
Claiming Qwickrazor is farming donations is rediculous, He’s not forcing anyone to donate and donating will not make this release come any quicker.
The only thing postponing this release is Sony with their next Vita firmware.
I bet if the next Vita update hit tomorrow and this exploit isn’t patched then Qwikrazor and the guys would drop the exploit and tutorials instantly, if they are ready for release as is anyway.
first 4 u
thanks to Qwikrazor. but i want just to say that game Ape Quest is not available anymore on the US store, i have UNO should this work ?
So if i got Ape escape i am good to go? or i am missing something?
te amo mirela
Ape quest demo isn’t available in North America. I’m on 3.52, I have pool hall pro, ape escape, psp games I have already installed mortal kombat unchained, street fighter alpha 3 max, call of duty road to victory, god of war collections. Hopefully one of these will work for a base game
youll need a PSP game as a base game not a PSVITA game
It is, you just can’t download it directly with your PS Vita, I used my PS3 to download it.
and if i don´t have a PS3, what other game can be downloaded for use as a base?
You spelled “really” wrong. -.-
It’s not “relly”, have some professionalism, damn it!
what i need to do now ? in this moment I need download anything ? plz awnser me
Yay!
Last line “He relly deserves it” just a heads up on the misspell ;P
more psp *** :/
Bro……wht else u want for this cheap…..get ur *** here after a few years…..then u can get some vita *** ……. Right now….all I can say is go check out ps4 ***………till some hot chick checks out ur ****.
In Simpler Words:
STOP TROUBLING THOSE AWESOME TECHS
How do i set up bubbles on 3.18? Can I make tn-v bubble?
I’ve always found it works best to put your Vita in an oven set to 400 for about 5 minutes. It sort of cleans up all the security to make setting bubbles up easier. But make sure it’s no longer than 5 minutes, otherwise you run the risk of deleting the whole PSP emulator.
If you still experience trouble after that, a good cleaning cycle through the dish washer has also been known to help.
I know you’re trolling but you really shouldnt say things like that, what if some 6 or 7 year old is the person you’re posting too? they might just do it. I have a 6 year old and he doesnt understand the concept of sarcasm…
You shouldnt be allowed to handle expensive electronics on your own, if you are too young to take responsibility for them (younger than 12, I would say).
I did that with my iphone 5s lols
So to clarify, if I am on firmware 3.51, and already have pool hall pro on my vita, I will be ready for this, or do I need anything more? And if I need more, I assume I need to download it using that PS3 trick?
Quick question: The “Ape Quest" Demo is usable for FW 3.51, to set up a Bubble?
I’m still very confused. This is going to be my very first time installing ARK for the Vita (Maybe Custom Bubbles down the way) so, do we know the exploit game needed for ark in version 3.52? Do I need Ark to install Custom Bubbles?
I hope it would be announce at least during the Flash Sale or once the sale starts with listed of discount games coz’ I have to top up the PSN wallet at that time and would be perfect to get the game.
how does one even download ape quest onto their vita? i tried it and it wouldn’t let me.
Use a PS3.
I have the “Ape Quest Starter Pack” demo still in my download list from years back. Thats the one you guys are referring to, right?
Internet psn store download ?
Patched 3.52 not update off wifi use qcma and remember 1years ago that 3.36 bubbles
Your question doesn’t make much sense… Yes, you need wifi to download the demo from PSN and I can’t make sense from everthing else you wrote. Maybe you can try commenting on your main languaje, te puedo ayudar si hablas español y lo preguntas de nuevo 😛
I just realized chrono cross is a ps1 game! 🙁
Guess I’ll have to go through the work to get a psp game on my 3.51 vita.
Is this bubble will be easy to install? Or it will be comlicated like old one?
Wow I almost thought this was a different writer! Keep this writing style The_Z, it’s much better than previous articles.
Longer and more thorough articles vs shorter minor articles.
Over the time one should be able to only improve their foreign language skills.
So, does anyone know if its possible to move custom bubbles or an ARK install from one system to another with the memory card swap trick?
I have two PSTV systems, one on 3.51 with Rejuvinate installed and one on 3.52. I can’t transfer PHP to the other one, so I’ll have to do my install on the 3.52 system. Can I then move the stuff over, be it from memory card swap or QCMA, to have it all on one system?
Thanks.
@Qwik: I will be making a PayPal donation on release day, hopefully others can do the same 🙂
Are we able to use that exploitable Japanese game demo that was cancelled a while back as a Bubble base? I think the dev found that it had too many limitations to be used for VHBL or something, but would those limitations matter for a Custom Bubble base game? or should demo’s be avoided?
still awaiting a tn-x loader (bubble) that would be great!
this is great news for the people on newer firmwares!
Any other demos other than Ape Escape to use as a base game? I don’t have a PS3 (or a friend that has a PS3, all PCMRs) is the base game really needed or only the exploit game Pool Hall Pro is needed?
There’s echocronium but is the same as ape quest, you need a ps3
will rejuvenate allow this.
since I’m on 3.51 and I do have ape escape on my download list??
Currently on Vita firmware 3.36 with VHBL exploit, Patapon 2, Ape Quest. Should I update> Do I need the new exploit game?
DO NOT UPDATE!!!
you are on what is know by hackers as the golden firmware. if you update you’ll loose everything
Unclear if it would help me run my old ISO and cso’s from start screen but if it runs home brew maybe Prometheus ISO/CSO loader will do the trick
Hello wololo´s friends, Im in firware 3.51 (with rejuvenate functioning 100 %), can i download an exploited game wiyhout updatng to 3.52? i can bought it from my pc , but how i download to the psvita bypassing psn ? and its there a exploit game for 3.51? and the 3.52 exploit functions in 3.51? thank, sorry for my english im from argentina.
While I appreciate this article, I now have more questions. Should folks who are on 3.18-3.30 upgrade to 3.5+ or stay where they are? It sounds like the only downsides to having the new custom bubbles is the loss of a bootscreen and having to possibly buy different exploited games…is that right?
Also, we now need two exploited games?? “In the end you will ALSO need an exploit game for the Version 3.52 (or whatever version you want to use the Custom Bubbles on), to set up your very first Custom Bubble.” – I don’t understand why we need two exploits…maybe one for bubbles and the other for an eCFW??? I dunno…
One last question…what CAN’T I do with custom bubbles that I could with eCFW?
Thanks!
Mo
you don’t need 2 exploit games, you need one game for the exploit and another “psp game” to work as base for your Custom Bubble, you will launch you home brew thru the base game not the exploit
OK, thanks for clearing that up. That makes sense now.
Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t rejuvenate uncompatible with 3.52?
I would like to know that as well.
I currently have a Vita on 3.36 (it was used when I bought it, and came with FW 3.36), but I’ve never been able to activate it since I got it recently. I will have access to my PS3 in December or so, but for now, should I stay on 3.36 or update to 3.52, because it’s basically my MGS HD machine right now.
Stay on 3.36.
I would like to know this as well.
Hey, Z I have a question.
How would a PSTV on firmware 3.52 be able to do this upcoming exploit?
Things like Update blocker no longer work, so if I tried to use a 3.52 exploit game to trigger the Custom Bubble installation or the Ark-2 CFW install it wouldn’t be possible after next firmware revision because I would be forced to update in order to transfer files via Wifi through QCMA.
I don’t have a secondary Vita to transfer either. I only have a PSTV so I hope there is some means to install this new upcoming exploit on my PSTV when it’s necessary to update beyond 3.52 since that is when Qwikrazor plans to release it.
I hope this isn’t a case where I’m stuck and nothing can be done. I appreciate for providing the news, thanks.
their are 2 psp demos in the north america market
Hi Z, Can you tell me which psp game from following 4 can be used as psp base : currently we have a deal on these games :
Manhunt 2 $2.20
Midnight Club L.A. Remix $3.56
Beaterator $3.56
The Warriors $2.20
imagur
So I’m a noob when it comes to this. Should I download ape quest and pool hall pro to my vita to be prepared for this? Or should I do something else?
