PS3 Custom Firmware 4.75 Rebug REX/D-REX are now available!
Korean developer Joonie from Team Rebug released yesterday the long awaited 4.75 Rebug CFW for the PlayStation 3. This has probably the coolest features for it but take yourself a look at the feature List below.
Like all Custom Firmwares, you can only install these if you’re already running a Custom Firmware, or Official Firmware 3.55 and below on your PS3.

How to install it ?
- Download the Rebug PS3UPDAT.PUP and create on a FAT32 formatted Flash Drive a Folder called PS3 into these another one called UPDATE now save the PS3UPDAT.PUP in the UPDATE Folder. (there are two Version one for CEX and the other one for DEX Systems choose one you need)
- Go to Settings > System Update and install it.
- You’re now done and can setup the CFW.

does the PS3 custom firmware allow one to download PS3 games and put them on the PS3 HDD? (I have a 1 terabyte HDD in my PS3).
I’m pretty certain I’m well above 3.55, but I’m just curious.

Yes a CFW does allow you to play copied PS3 games and play them from your hard drive
Well.. if you are on 3.55 above and you have a 2xxx slim or 1xxx fat, then you can downgrade using hadware.. if you are a super slim user, then you cant

Yes you need to be on 3.55 first. Or on CFW first. A real cfw not a fake shop/demo cfw.
Woo! Been waiting for this for a while, can finally stop using a spoofer.
Don’t ditch your spoofer just yet. Still need to hide CFW and patch in/out your IDPS.

There is LOTS of technical terms and file formats that I have no idea what they mean or what they are for.
I just wanted someone to tell me in a nutshell: “Region free/homebrew/play backups” or stuff like that you know.
Sorry if it’s too much too ask.
PD: I know PS3 is region free already.
this firmware allows you to do everything including start homebrew, otheros, play copied games from hdd.

Any news on when or if 4.75 OFW has any exploits? I’m stuck on it and want to know my options, I’d really like a CFW ps3, for emulation and remote play purposes.
Story on anything greater than OFW 3.55 is the same as ever – Is it a fat or earlier slim? You can/might be able to downgrade it. “You” is to be taken lightly as it requires multiple dis- and re-assemblies of the console in question.
Unless you have the correct console and skills, it’s down to send it in to a downgrading service or buy a new one at the proper OFW.
You can downgrade to 3.55 if you are on one of the old PS3 models or a good number of the slims. Just google “PS3 3.55 downgrade”. There are a decent amount of folks on eBay who can do it for you fairly cheap.
Sounds fun and all but I’ll stick with Rogero – Cobra 4.46, I love being able to play ps2 games with my controller wireless and I vaguely remember that not being any where near as good after 4.46. The ps2 emulation in general.
I’m on 4.55, just played me some P3:FES had no issues.

Well, the “remote play anything” feature is bugged. Tried to stream Final Fantasy XIII (standard spoofer disc on the drive) and it disconnected from the vita and locked the console in black screen.
And here I am still waiting and hoping on a cfw without having o downgrade to 3.55.
Should I just take the bite the plunge and get someone to downgrade it?

Obviously not. None of these guys give a rat’s a** about PS3 because they’re too busy working on PS4. They’d waste money trying to work on the PS3 models that can’t have CFW.

You can’t install it on ANY official firmware ABOVE 3.55. This is a 4.75 CFW but you either need to be on 3.55 official firmware or lower OR already have some type of CFW installed on your PS3. So if your PS3 has 4.75 OFW installed right now, I’m telling you no, you can not install this.
Demon souls now work trough remote play.
‘game quit no request event’ pops up too damn much. Tried recovery mode installation, new multiman, reinstalling multiman and so on.
Games do work though.
