I don’t know if this is real or just a test to see what Nintendo will do about this or a massive troll. Either way, I have the app downloaded anyway, so no skin off my bones.

Don’t you remember last time? Kid makes a video, asks for help designing a web page, takes 3 – 5 months actually figuring out how to package the hack, keeps making BS excuses why it’s delayed, then finally releases it when nobody gives a #$%& anymore.

    FIRST!!

  3. Maxime says:

Nice ! I have Cubic Ninja with a Sky3DS and IronFall and now YouTube 😀

  4. OTFree says:

Hmm…I hope he isn’t trolling. This would be a major breakthrough, since Nintendo isn’t likely to remove the YouTube app immediately.

  5. Yifan Lu says:

    > Today, Smealum announced that yet another app is vulnerable and can be used for Hombrews on the 3DS

Where did you hear that? The only tweet smea made was “EVERYONE interested in 3DS homebrew should download YouTube from eshop for FREE.”

    • Exawhy says:

Yeah, so how is youtube a way to make homebrew if it’s not exploitable?
Are you saying he is telling us to download it to watch video tutorial about homebrew? ;…

  6. NoSpam says:

    Here’s my prediction:

To trigger the exploit you must watch a specially modified video (Enter URL here)…

If Smealum is trolling he ends up with the most watched video on Youtube and gets a nice payout from Google.

If Smealum isn’t trolling he ends up with the most watched video on Youtube, gets a nice payout from Google and everyone else profits from free homebrew.

  7. ishygdaft says:

This is gonna be interesting, I think messing with Google might be bad juju but this will fun to watch and use.

  8. NeonAera says:

Looks like almost everyone will have this hack then haha The YT app is really popular, so yeh. I’m gonna guess it’s going to be called YouHax, or TubeHax now bahaha. Anyway, thanks for the heads up once again, wololo. Still your following ally since the day you converted me. wololooo! :] Aiyoh! X^)

  9. HoZy says:

It’s a bold strategy Cotton, Let’s see if it plays out for ’em.

  10. Rolenzo says:

Finally! A use for that diarrhea stain of an application. I used the 3ds YT app twice; and both times i thought to myself: why don’t i just use the vita or my phone. It takes forever to load and can only do sub 360p scaled videos.

    Hopefully it’s legit :).

  11. W wololo says:

For me the hack is server proxy
    (Sottolineo per me)

  12. n says:

And this happens right after I sold my N3DS…

  13. motezazer says:

This application is old (2013!) and vulnerable (it’s a web browser, and 2013 webkit had a lot of vulns). That’s what I can say.

Also, you should mention that smea said that it’s better to have both youtube and ironfall, and that ironfall users should download the youtube app.

  14. Xilence says:

I love the new mobile layout, but the Ad coverers a big portion of the screen. I’m not complaining that the Ad is there, I’m complaining that it’s too big and obstructive.

  15. MyLegGuy says:

I would be super sad if this was a gigantic troll…

  16. Jamx says:

Interesting. I wonder how the xploit could work with Youtube, but I assume it’s a web based exploit? since YT is actually like an internet browser, just only limited to youtube webpage only.

  17. Cameron says:

    SECOND!!

  18. Samsqwamch says:

Oh how I hope that this is for real…
Just bought my 3ds today and a free homebrew hack for it would be sweeeeet!

  19. someone somewhere says:

    lel

lets say goodbye to the eshop xD

  20. >_> says:

I will be going to the ER with two collapsed lungs from laughing so hard if this does turn out to be an epic trollfest courtesy of Smealum. All the whiners and dumb question askers smothering Smealum on twitter deserve it a hundredfold, that’s for sure. >_>

  21. Flaky says:

Well, the YouTube app on that console now has an actual purpose.

  22. thedicemaster says:

most likely the youtube hack requires an active internet connection to load an exploit off a website.
ironhax works offline, but you need a way to inject the save.

so people with both can use the youtube hack to inject the ironhax data into the ironfall save file.

  23. FroggestSpirit says:

Given his reputation, It’s not going to be a big troll. Also considering that you don’t need to update anymore if you have gotten ironfall.

  24. makak1984 says:

And another week for release the exploit?

  25. wonre says:

maybe homebrew working thru new smea method will inherit abilities of hosted hacked game. maybe homebrew launched thru ironhax won’t be able to connect to internet (but that will be still ok for most homebrew programs like emulators), and maybe those launched thru youtubehax will be able to. i think i heard vhbl worked that way on psp : if psp game doesn’t connect to internet then the vhbl homebrew can’t either (limited static linked library or something like that)

  26. WHAAAT says:

Guys, it’s a fake. Can’t you see the summer is over?

But I still got iron fall n youtube thanks smea for iron fall tip

  27. bat says:

can i use pasta cfw woth freehax? on 9.9?

  28. Crzo says:

When I saw Smea’s twit I couldn’t believe it, it seems like an obvious troll at first but then I realized that any app can be exploited just like PSM on vita and demos on PSP…

I already had the app installed so if it happens to be a megatrollololol I didn’t fell into downloading it for this purpose haha

  29. kimboslice says:

Dis is great even if is bs to throw off nintendo i like this strategy should be done to sony to start controversy worldwide!

    • Crzo says:

I don’t know… I think Sony is more on the safe side, announcing a game as being exploitable would make lots of people buy it and then *** all these people off for no reason when there is no exploit, there aren’t free PSP/vita games out there neither and no one would be mad at the demos being removed if someone tried to pull a fake announcement on them.

Regarding to Vita software, there isn’t even a known way to hack it (other than rejuvenate and eCWF) so it is highly unlikely to pull this one on Sony without actually affecting all the users.

  30. ishygdaft says:

smea said on twitter that –

“i’d like to emphasize that tubehax is no joke. get downloadin yall”

  31. skreama says:

    here is proof from him

  32. ema says:

Does doing this let you play 3ds roms, or does that still require a flashcart?

  33. Lurlene says:

I’m impressed, I have to admit. Rarely do I come across a blog that’s both educative
and entertaining, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head.
The issue is something that too few folks are speaking intelligently about.
I’m very happy hat I came across this in my hunt for
    sometghing relating to this.

Here is mmy web-site sua chua quat dien (Lurlene)
